send in a word and ill write a drabble around it || OPEN! ( will prolly be slow with them or short )
âYou doinâ alright back there, El?â
Ellis responds with only a groan, sweat endlessly falling from his skin as the duo continued to travel through the hot Arizona desert. Keith insisted it was the quickest way to get to where they were going, but unfortunately, his AC in his own trailer car had broken down.
They had stopped to get gas, Keith stopping by the trailer inside to see how his best friend was doing only to frown at what he saw. Despite being nearly naked, with little to no blankets, Ellis was as sunburnt as a cooked crab and he looked like he was going to puke any minute. Overheated, probably.
The younger of the two by a year curses politely under his breath ( he never cursed, his mama taught him well ) and he approaches his friend, resting a palm against Ellisâ sweaty forehead. Keithâs face shifts into one of visible concern and he tries to get the other to look at him. âEllis, yer warm as hell! Think yer gettinâ sick, man!â
The white haired male vaguely chuckles at that, if only to lighten the mood, but he barely moved in his spot. He didnât want to make the other feel bad, after all, moving would make him feel worse and the last thing they needed was for Keith to panic.
Ellis opens his mouth to protest, but Keith is already on his way to their working fridge, opening it up and looking around frantically. He pauses, before going to remove his sweat stained shirt and all the bedridden Ellis can do is gawk at a half naked Keith- though it wasnât like he was wearing much either.
Heâd honestly forgot how, well, fit Keith was as well. Keith quickly begins to soak his shirt into water, before folding it and sticking it in their freezer. âShould make for a decent ice pack. Gotta cool ya off, yer gettinâ real hot back here, ya know?â
âAinât the only thing hot back hereâŠâ
 âYou say somethinâ, El?â
His heart nearly skips a beat and he feels himself warm up than he already felt, nausea rising as his already pink face hides his forming blush pretty damn well.
âYeah, m'real sorry about itâŠwould let ya sit up front with me, but ya need to lay-â
âNah Keith, yaâŠneed the company, itâs our road trip- âleast we can do is talk to each other the whole way.â
Keith only stares at his sick friend beginning to stand up from his bed, half in awe at his determination, but also in frustrated concern at the 32 year oldâs fickle behavior.
âAlright, dunno how the stationâs employees will take kindly to a couple'a half naked, sweatinâ guys steppinâ out the trailer together but if thatâs what ya want, Iâm fine with it, El.â
Thereâs that grin Ellis loves, and while he struggles to walk, Keith assists him into the truck pulling the trailer. At least the AC worked there and they would have each otherâs company.
