🥀 Family: Andromeda's birth parents passed away of an illness right after she was born. She has no memory of them and never meets them. She is adopted by a human couple, Cassiopeia and Cepheus Greenleaf, and taken to live in a small enclave made up mostly of druids in a forest just outside of Waterdeep. Cassiopeia, her mother, was a Circle of the Land Druid, and Cepheus, her father, was a Gloomstalker Ranger. Both her adoptive parents were murdered when Andromeda was fifteen years old and she was taken into captivity until she escaped at age 30.

About a century after the events of the Absolute, Andromeda gives birth to her and Astarion's twin Dhampir children, Artemis (a girl) and Apollo (a boy). They are the couple's only children.

🥀 Job: Before the events of the Absolute, traveling and busking when money is needed. After the events of the Absolute, a professor at Alfira's school of Bards in Baldur's Gate.

I suppose I can provide something melancholic. Andromeda is called the Melancholy Bard, after all. This is from the upcoming chapter of TMB.

“The gods have never done anything for me.” Her voice came out sharp like a knife cutting into flesh, but Astarion didn’t flinch. He knew her anger wasn’t directed toward him. A deep sigh escaped her chest before she looked up at him. “I begged and prayed for years to Silvanus, Corellon, or any other god who would listen. None answered my prayers. Not even my prayers to just let me die. The one time I tried to take my life, one of Cicero’s servants found me almost immediately. And once he revived me, Cicero practically beat me to death’s door. Told me he wouldn’t give me the satisfaction of letting me die.” Astarion’s voice was soft as he spoke. He tried not to let it crack, but it did anyway. “I didn’t know you tried to do that.” Her face was somber and full of remorse. “Only once. I used to be so angry I failed. Even after I escaped.” She cupped his face in her hands, gently pressing her forehead against his. “But I’m not anymore.” Slipping his arms around her torso, he hugged her to his chest. No matter how resilient she was, she felt fragile in his embrace. Thoughts of a life where he had never met her made his heart feel as though it would split in two. A world without her light was one he never wanted to know again.

Andromeda Faye Greenleaf (eventually Ancunín)

2. Does your OC have any nervous ticks or self soothing habits?

Andromeda hums to herself all the time. It’s probably not entirely surprising since she is musically inclined. But she does it more frequently when she is in distress or feeling on edge about things.

3. Let's say your OC got kidnapped. What would save them?

Astarion, likely with the help of at least Karlach and Gale. The others would help too if it’s during the tadpole adventures. Can neither confirm nor deny if a rescue mission does happen then or not… 👀

4. If your OC has a love interest, are they opposite or rather similar?

It’s a bit of a balance, but it might not seem like it. Personality-wise, they are quite different. Especially since Andromeda is very selfless and likes to help people, while Astarion is rather selfish and typically only cares about benefiting himself. However, they both can relate to each other’s pasts quite deeply and it gives them a lot of common ground. That being said, Andromeda’s kind heart starts to rub off on Astarion the longer they are together, and he rubs off on her about turning a bit of a blind eye to some crimes. 🤭

5. Is there a story behind making your OCs? What inspired you?

Initially, I just wanted to make a character so I could play the game and wasn’t really thinking deeply about it because I knew nothing about DND and very little about Baldur’s Gate. But it was quite literally love at first sight. When I finished her in the CC, I was simply smitten with her and wanted to give her a personality. So, I did just that. Some of her is self-insert, most of her is very much not. A lot of her backstory developed because I didn’t want to create a character who was a savior to or trying to “fix” Astarion. I wanted their dynamic to be that they both had dark pasts and they could understand and love each other no matter what.

Yes, Andromeda prefers to have her hands occupied. She likes to keep busy. Most often, she will be playing her lyre or any other instrument she can get her hands on. She also really enjoys gardening, and loves digging in the dirt to plant all kinds of things for her to love and nourish. If she's sitting and talking with Astarion, she likes to hold his hands and will often mindlessly play with his fingers, or if they are cuddling, she will play with his curls.

16. Do they prefer to eat alone or with company?

Usually with company. If she's having a bad depression spell, then Andromeda prefers to be alone or only with Astarion. But she enjoys being surrounded by her close friends or family for meals.
