A lot of us had some expectations about life, marriage and Motherhood. 😶 I'm sure you had this picture in your head about what your ideal life would look like. You had a picture perfect idea for a job, a husband, children... . . And how's that working for you? 😀 . . I can tell you how that's working out for me, or NOT! 😉 . . And even though you've gone through life and you can see that things don't work the way you had in mind, a lot of us are still holding on to unrealistic expectations. . . If you'll admit it to yourself, at least, you'll see that the reason you're quick to yell at your child (Lord Jesus, help me here), quick to snap at that maid, quick to be short with your man, is because deep down within you, you are still being guided by those deep seated expectations! . . You still secretly desire that puurrrfect life. You still say to yourself, if I just struggled a little more, worked a bit harder, yelled a little louder, screamed a decibel higher, things will be just the way I pictured. . . And you have allowed yourself to be so consumed by those expectations that you are being pushed into sin because of it. . . And God is saying to you, Will you let go of your expectations and take on mine? Will you submit your expectations to me and know that I haven't called you to live that kind of life? . . So, today, say to yourself "I will never have all my expectations met, and that's fine." You know why that's fine? Because God always replaces our expectations with His when we submit them to Him. And guess what else He does with them? He multiplies them, blows them all out and exceeds our expectations in multiple folds 🙏 . . What unrealistic expectation are you still holding on to? In what way have they caused you to stumble, to sin and to allow evil take hold of your heart? Which ones do you need to let go of today, to embrace God's? . . Lord Jesus, I am sorry for the times I have allowed my expectations to consume me. Today, I surrender my expectations to you. Help me to only focus on what You have in store for my life. AMEN. . . Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. #morningthought are you moving forward or just still in the bed. Yeah I know many of you are off today for the holiday. #andThatsFine but if there's something in your soul you feel you should be doing, it's hard to accomplish it sitting in park or not finding a way to get somewhere.
