    The one word answer was all Rose’s heart needed to plummet swiftly into her stomach. Why didn’t he say anything, thought they found the cure for insomnia weeks ago, she remembers fondly… though the almost suffocation via the Doctor could’ve been done without, the ‘sleepover’ seemed to do the job just fine. Though, even she knew the ‘prescription’ wasn’t the cure all for all of this Doctor’s nightmares, as much as she wished it to be.

    “Been a bit, yeah. Wasn’t tryin’ to snoop, honest, it just… came out. Sure he didn’t mean to, probably thought i already knew.” Still didn’t mean she didn’t feel terrible for it despite how out of her control it was.

    “Please, don’t, don’t dance around this like you normally do. Thought we were friends, Doctor. Don’t ‘ave to let me into your world completely, just, a smidge, maybe. Even if m’just supplyin’ an ear.” The revelation was still taking some time to get used to, but… parallel worlds, she shrugs inward.

    “You and the Master, then.” she smiles, tries to switch up the pace, open to the idea. Aiming or supportive, but she’s worried, worried as she usually is for his well-being.

   “…You miss ‘im, don’t you?”

The Doctor wasn’t at all fooled by the display. It was a front he personally excelled at, and the sleeping troubles were certainly something he could empathize with as well. Not the nicest traits to have in common, but at least it meant the Time Lord had a general sense about how Bucky was actually feeling.

It was why he’d phrased his question that way, careful not to insinuate that Bucky couldn’t go back to sleep if he wanted to, but to offer some manner of relief as well. Tea certainly helped settle his nerves when he felt particularly frayed at the edges. Chamomile, mostly; something he’d picked up on with a bit more frequency while spending time with Andromeda.

“Well, c’mon then,” he encouraged, and if Bucky’s smile was forced, his was far more genuine as he chattered away, trying to retain a sense of normalcy for his companion’s sake. “Was headed down to the galley for a cuppa myself, figured I’d extend the invitation.”

Bucky might not say so, but he was terribly grateful the Doctor didn’t draw attention to how rattled he was. It made it easier to ignore it himself. 

No matter how much attention he did or didn’t give his mental state, there wasn’t much chance of going back to sleep. It was probably better to just distract himself with something else, and the Doctor made for good company when he needed a distraction. 

“sounds good to me,” Bucky murmured, falling into step beside the Doctor. He didn’t say much, but accepting company at all instead of hiding away was a marked improvement over the way he’d responded to things in the beginning.

✖ How has Tumblr RP changed since you started?

Oh hmm. I’ve been here for almost 6 years now, and I don’t know how much of what’s changed can be attributed to hopping fandoms/characters, how much is that I grew as a roleplayer and acclimated to the culture, and how much is legitimate change. Tumblr has definitely changed in terms of functionality. Between Tumblr updates and XKit, I like rping via browser way more than I used to. Now, if the app would just get it together. 

✿ What do you think about public call out posts?

Honestly, I find them really unnecessarily negative and dramatic most of the time. I feel like I should add the caveat that I don’t necessarily feel that way about all of them? It’s mostly about intent. Call out posts because someone is mad/salty/had their feelings hurt/is trying to humiliate another RPer make me super uncomfortable and leery of writing with that person. Call out posts that warn of a legitimate danger/have evidence/etc. are something else. I have a really low threshold for drama though, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

♦ What was a mildly annoying thing that has happened to you rp wise?

I’m kind of hard to annoy, and most of the time things that annoy me in the moment are just funny later. The most recent thing that comes to mind is, I was writing with someone where our characters had just absolutely no chemistry in any romantic sense, and it was a character I explicitly said in my rules that I didn’t feel comfortable shipping, and the other person just kept more and more blatantly trying to seduce my character and then getting offended when it didn’t work. It’s one of those things that was really aggravating in the moment, but it’s kind of funny now. 

❣ How salty are you feeling right now?

Maybe a 4.5 on the salt scale. XD

♒ Thoughts on the fandom you’re currently rping in?

I’m kind of straddling two fandoms right now, which is interesting, and culturally very different. My experience so far has been that the Marvel RP community is a little bit more serious business than the corners of the Doctor Who community I hang out/hung out in. I’d never even heard of having a rules page until I started Bucky. I enjoy them both, though <3
