Why was Andrina in the secondary school after hours?
Because Andrina, believe it or not, was in fact doing a project. Yes, a project assigned to her by teachers in school, because every now and then Andrina did in fact do her projects. It was for her photography class, which Andrina enjoyed more than most and she didn’t want to fail, if only because she wanted to qualify for the upper-level classes next year. The class she was in was all about roll film and self-developing cameras-- learning how to shoot with the bare minimum, all Polaroid and Kodak, nothing fancier. But next semester, she wanted to try her hand at processing film from old, near obsolete technology. First step: pass this lower-level class with flying colours.
So she was here to take pictures of empty classrooms: places after hours, all hollowed out and lifeless. She was taking extreme close-ups and was gonna take each square of polaroid and mosaic them into the bigger pictures-- think of it like coloring in squares on grid paper. It took lots of time and focus, two things that Andrina didn’t often have, unless it was a project such as this-- which turned her focus into hyperdrive. She was, in fact, missing a shift at Whosits right now, but she was entirely unaware as she wandered the empty hallways.
Then she caught sight of a head of hair in a classroom. It stopped her in her tracks and she stepped back three steps to peer into the window.
A teacher in his natural habitat.
Most people would leave because she was, y’know, not supposed to be here, but Andrina could never resist a candid. So she slowly opened the door, careful so it would not squeak on its hinges too bad. Then lifted her polaroid… and… SNAP.
“Gotcha!” giggled Andrina. The polaroid fed out the picture and she plucked it, givin’ it a shake as the teacher looked up at her. “Oh, hi.”
