With today being the last day of Station 19 I've been so emotional about it coming to an end. I have been obsessed with other tv shows and characters but never in a way that I could relate this much with and never in such a big way.
The two things about this show that grabbed me are how heartfelt it is and the character diversity. It's not only about the firefighting and saving lives and the things that everyone goes through. Each character on this show has a deep feel for helping people and going above their job duties. It is never about money or power for them. The show brought real-life issues into the stories and showed us how the things going on in the world affect people. And then it used these flawed characters with big hearts to show how we can be better humans. At the same time, we get to see that no one is perfect, even people who are trying to do good. We get to see these characters go through so many mental health issues, heartache, and grief, among other things, all while still being full of love. And seeing the love they all have for each other is the glue for this show. Everything, every story comes back to that.
While I'm incredibly sad this show is ending, at the same time I'm very grateful we were given the gift of 7 seasons with these characters and stories I love. I am grateful for everyone who worked to make this show what it is. And lastly, I am grateful for online streaming because I can rewatch this show as much as I want.
