Back in 2005 I took the bus to Hossegor to check out and photograph the #quiksilverpro2015 for three days. I walked with my suitcase with a broken zipper a couple kilometers to the beach at 7:30 in the morning. I arrived a bit late as all the pro photographers from usa and around europe were already posted up with their mega 600mm lenses and tripods. I dragged my suitcase across the beach as all these photographers were wondering what the hell I was doing. I opened my suitcase and pulled out a mini tripod that extends to about a foot high, and set up my camera, resting it on the suitcase and layed down in the sand as if it were world war two and I was shooting from the trenches. They all probably thought I was an idiot shooting with my analog Nikon F4 with a beat up old 300mm lens, but I proceeded to get some of my favorite surf shots to this day.
