Another action packed aoex chapter. Still lighter on plot development than I would like, but there were some excellent expressions this time. Did you have a favorite moment?

Helloooo! Yeah, the boys are still fighting, nothing too unpredictable about that. :))

I did particularly enjoy Shima being fed up with the Illuminati tho’. At least, his character is consistent, haha!! 

And it does bring us closer to him ditching the Illuminati eventually, because being a spy is fun and all, but protecting the people he loves (and his own skin) does matter way more. It’s not that he’s lazy: he’s not sure where to dedicate his strength and skills yet, but he’s learning. :)

I also did immensely enjoy demon!Rin calling Yukio out, such as...

because it shows that Rin does know & understand his little brother, a fact Yukio used to claim was not true (that no one could help or understand him, that he had no real family or friend) but that is now thrown right into his face along with Rin’s punches. 

I also loved how their motives for fighting each other are contrasting so much despite being fundamentally the same. 

I mean, Yukio’s self loathing led to him wanting to be the hero (though he calls himself the villain) who will fall & die for the “world’s sake”. It’s a way for him to finally feel significant in the life he’s led so far, because he’s slowly reached quite the amount of desperation between his father’s death, his brother not needing his protection (something he originally wished to be trained for) and Mephisto’s schemes throughout the story.

Meanwhile, Rin also fights because of all that happened to his family, but it’s Rin, so it can only be expressed more simply. The world doesn’t matter, Rin doesn’t care anymore about proving himself worthy to the world, in order to earn the right to exist: he just doesn’t want what’s left of his family to disappear.

And I love that, because that’s precisely what he realized during that journey through the past...

his parents are the ones who decided that he was allowed to survive, so that’s all he and Yukio need to exist in this world, especially since they still have each other (while Yuri and Shiro are already dead).

Therefore Rin says it best: who gives a damn about the world, when the foundation on which their family was made is at stake right here and now? Seriously Yukio, you’re the one who should focus on the bigger picture here. xDD

Lastly, I AM SO DAMN HAPPY THAT

KURO IS FINALLY HERE!! I was expecting him to show up at some point, because he used to be Shiro’s familiar and now he’s Rin’s, so all in all, I think he’ll prove to be of some guidance to the boys (especially considering the foreshadowing)!

Now, we’re just missing Shura (since I think Shiemi won’t be released from her prison in the Vatican before the twins stop fighting, but I can be wrong).

I think that’s about it for this chapter! I just enjoy a lot that Sensei does find a way to show how the past dynamic between Satan/Yuri/Shiro affects the boys in this arc, but also how Rin learnt his lesson through the fact that only their parents had the right to decide whether the twins can exist or not. 

Yuri wanted them, Shiro raised them, so Rin and Yukio belong in this world, no matter what anyone says, especially not their trash biological father.

Be proud to take after Yuri, Rin: she had the strength to tell the demon god to fuck off and that’s no small feat.
