Meeting an angel wasn’t a part of your plan, let alone befriend it nor fall for it. Doing all the things you’ve never done before with the said angel was a complete challenge and adventure in your life. He was like a spice added to your boring monotone life. But was it worth it?
You stared blankly at the calm water of the river as it glistened under the moonlight. You didn’t know how you’ve been sitting there or how you even got there. Your horn and black wings were hidden as you concealed it under a spell.
Your silky hair was blown by the wind as the dandelions around you flew around, some were stuck on your hair and the others fell to the cold water of the river. It was a very calm yet cold night.
You were about to stand up when a flash of bright light blinded you for a good five minutes. When everything was back to normal, so was your vision, your eyebrows rose upon seeing a man across the river lying at the green soft grass, unconscious.
Since you’re in the forest, the body of the river wasn’t that big and deep. Contrast to your black silky dress, he was wearing a white long sleeve ruffle top and a pair of black slacks, yet he had nothing that could cover his feet. Perhaps a shoe or something like socks.
You rose up from your position before walking across the river, careful not to slip and fall to the cold water while stepping on the rocks. Kneeling beside his unconscious figure, you gently fry away his hair from his face to see his features clearly. You were beyond mesmerized upon seeing his ethereal beauty, such an eye candy.
It wasn’t your first time seeing such a beauty, you have your bestfriend Sunghoon who was a beauty too, but this man’s beauty was beyond fascinating. His innocent soft features compliments him so much.
You were so bewitched of his beauty that you absentmindedly caressed his face. You tilt your head up to stare at the starry sky.
‘He must’ve fallen here by accident’
You thought to yourself as it was very rare to have angels lurking down at the land of sinners, such as the people and of course, you, a demon yourself. It was dangerous for an angel to ever step down.
Some of your kind weren’t very welcoming and almost every time ready to pounce on someone. You heaved a deep sigh before sitting down beside him.
It was very out of your character to guard someone you didn’t even know, let alone an angel, your kind's nemesis. You know you’ve been gone for a long time, and probably they were already looking for you, especially your younger brother, Sunoo.
Of course, being part of the deadly sins, and being the demon of Wrath, possessing a very high position from the underworld would cause chaos if you’re reported missing.
Your handful of a bestfriend would beat your ass for disappearing for too long. You avert your gaze back to the man beside you when you feel him moving.
He slowly sat up, scratching his nape, while looking around in confusion. He hasn’t acknowledged you yet, probably unaware of your presence beside him.
‘He’s a stupid of an angel’ you thought as he space out while looking at the flowing water on the river.
“For an angel, you sure are a moron.”
Because of your sudden voice, he jumped out like a scaredy cat whipping his head to look at you like he had seen some ghost
You ignore his question, standing up from your recent position before walking away. You felt his presence following you behind, but you didn't mind.
“It was rude to just walk away without answering a person that was asking you a simple question, miss.”
Right there and then you know that he’ll be a handful for you. A little too much.
Jay calls your name from the dandelion field as he waves his hand at you. It’s been a while ever since you met him. How has it been? If you’ll answer honestly, it was nice. Ever since he became a part of your everyday routine, the trajectory of your life has changed.
The things you always do alone before, now includes him. Was your brother and bestfriend okay about your relationship with the angel? no. A very big N.O. Sunghoon was enraged upon knowing that you befriended an angel. Same goes for your younger brother, Sunoo.
To see the demon of lust seeping with rage upon hearing that you have befriended an angel is a sight to see. He scolded about how you should abandon the angel and just never meet it again. But did you listen to their rumbles? No.
Unknowingly to you, a small smile appeared at the corner of your lips as you watched the innocent angel run around the field of dandelions like a little child. While watching him, your conversation between Heeseung, the demon of Pride, invaded your mind.
He looked at you dead in the eyes. As the oldest among the seven deadly sins and had the most power among the seven of you, he was responsible for taking care of you and the rest of the deadly sins.
“You know the punishment if ever the higher ups discover you befriending a nemesis, right?”
You sat across him, as he rose up from his seat to tower over your figure.
“You as the demon of wrath know every rule. You’re with us when we pledge in front of everyone that we will obey every rule and give punishments to those who have bent it.”
My gaze shifted from my fingers to his brown orbs. “
Aren’t rules meant to be bent? It was meant to break right? And besides, I’m already in the process of breaking it, might as well continue what I’ve started for.”
His bambi eyes widened in shock, as if he was horrified but what I’ve just blurted out.
“Are you hearing yourself?! That’s ridiculous! Just for a mere angel?!”
“You breaking the rules, is like burying yourself six feet under!”
You rose up from your feet, narrowing your eyes at him. You don't care if you’re disrespecting him.
“He’s not just a mere angel, Lee. He’s MY angel. If they were to know that I am befriending a nemesis then it’s my problem to handle, not yours, nor them, but MINE.”
After that heated argument between the two of you, you stormed out of his room, but your steps came to halt when you see Sunghoon and Sunoo standing just right outside the office of Heeseung.
Disappointments were obviously and clearly well written in their faces, you held your head high before walking past the two and out of the palace where the seven deadly sins reside, including you
You were pulled out of your bubble when you heard the angel softly calling your name. To your surprise he was now standing in front of you in very close proximity, holding a dandelion in his hand.
“Hm..?” your eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
“I’ve been calling you a few times now, guess you’ve been spacing out.” he sat across as he stared right into your eyes. “Is there something wrong, baby?”
To say that you were surprised upon what he had called you was an understatement. It was your first time hearing him say that as he had been calling you by your name since then.
“What had you called me, Jay?”
He chuckled at your surprised look as he pinched your cheeks softly.
Even though he intended to whisper those words to you, you still catched it. You feel your face heat up at the sudden name he had called you. Just like a flower, your feelings for the male angel had bloomed.
It was forbidden, but did you care? Probably not. It was lovely yet painful at the same time. You both know that engaging in a relationship is a grievous sin and punishable by both heaven and hell. For once in your life, being with Jay makes you feel comfortable.
He was a very sweet, gentle, and caring lover to you. It was a euphoric yet at the same time melancholic feeling. You knew everything would come to an end, you both know it, but what you didn’t expect is that it would come sooner, too soon.
You and Jay were once again at the field of dandelion when a sudden loud noise reached your eardrums. You simultaneously look behind, freezing on your position as your eyes land on the higher ups. There stood behind them a badly beaten Sunghoon, Sunoo, Heeseung, Jeonghan, Minghao, and Yeonjun.
At the right side stood a group of angels, some were familiar to you and some were not. Riki, Jake, and Jungwon, stared at Jay with worried looks. You’ve known the three of them since they once visited the underground together with their Head Angel, Taehyung.
You felt the rage and wrath inside of you awakening as your eyes settled on your friends. Not minutes later, you were already standing in front of a Higher ups.
“This is a sin I’ve created, it has nothing to do with my family.”
You feel the anger slowly burn inside of you as you narrowed your eyes at them.
Sunoo called you weakly, among the six of them he has the most bruises, and it fueled your anger more seeing your younger brother in that situation. You knew it was your fault for breaking the rule but it has nothing to do with them, they were out of it.
“You dared lay a finger on my family… If I am to be punished, I might as well bring it to the fullest!”
A wildfire fastly spread at the field as your eyes turned red from the anger. Your horns and wing were now visible to everyone as it was now not under your concealing spell. The higher ups flew away injuring them in the process as your anger and wrath got the best of you.
You flew up and attacked the nearest higher up to you. Your wrath was slowly eating you up, as the only thing inside your head was killing the higher ups right there and then, some lowlife demons tried to stop you but you just pushed them away like they’re nothing.
“You’re getting out of control, Yn!”
You felt someone stop your arm when you’re about to stab one of the higher ups, but since your anger got the best of you, you threw them away like nothing, not even glancing who it was.
“Jay!” your movement comes into an abrupt halt when you hear his name being called.
You turned around immediately, as your blood slowly turned cold at the sight of him lying on the burned down dandelion field with blood oozing from his head. You didn’t know how long you were staring at his unconscious state, shocked at the thing you’ve done. When everything downed you, you flew to him and held him dearly in your arms. The blood oozing down from his head never stopped.
He was an angel, this shouldn't affect him much right? Tears pooled at the side of your eyes as you felt betrayed by your own self. You can’t believe you have hurt him. You don’t intend to, but still it was your fault. You buried your head at the crook of his neck and let your tears fall freely.
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry, love. I’m sorry…”
You mumbled it over and over again. You were stripped away from him and you didn’t bother to fight back anymore, afraid that you might hurt Jay, again.
You can feel the cold and menacing stare of the head angel, but the only thing on your head was Jay. You felt so horrible for hurting him. You were restrained to make sure you will not cause any more harm.
“As per ordered by the King Lucifer, himself, the ruler of the demons, by the power that he had bestowed upon me, Yn L/n, the Demon of Wrath, shall be punished and well be imprisoned inside the cursed cube for a hundred years upon committing a very grievous sin.”
You hung your head low as you let the punishment be voiced out by the higher up. Sunoo’s gasp can be heard in the background, as the six deadly sins protested on your punishment.
Before they had taken you away, you took one last look at Jay who was still unconscious before letting the higher ups casted a spell to imprison you inside the cursed cube. This is hell, and this is the punishment. And loving that ethereal angel named Jay, was your sweetest escape.
Was it worth it? Well…. Loving him and taking a risk for him was beyond worth it.
