no one knows percy better than her . how could they ? after all , no one could ever even DREAM to know him better than his own mother . of course , this also has its downsides ; hiding anything from his mother is a challenge .

" huh ? " he blinks , turning back to look at his mother . just how much has he missed ? he glances down at his plate , at the single piece of broccoli he's been absentmindedly pushing around his plate for lord knows how long . he sets his fork down and clears his throat , before focusing back on sally .

" sorry , " he apologizes , giving her a sheepish smile . he drops his gaze , focusing instead on the roll on his plate as he grabs it and shoves it in his mouth . " just a lot on my mind , " he mumbles between bites . he's not about to admit , however , that it was a certain girl on his mind .
