It probably hadn’t been the best idea to sneak off again, but Frisk had been stuck sitting around in the labs while the brothers got poked and prodded by Alphys for the first day or so in this strange new place. Something about their magic had really bothered the lizard monster and she’d wanted to get closer readings of it, much to the anger of the two brothers. When they’d hissed and growled in protest though, it was mentioned this testing could help them get returned to their home, and it was then they begrudgingly allowed the tests to take place. With Frisk being human though, there wasn’t anything immediately wrong with them, so they’d been left alone for the most part. Without the company of the brothers, or Sans who’d left to take care of something, the little human soon grew lonely and shy around all these monsters they didn’t know however, and soon crept off so they could at least explore this strange new world they’d all found themselves in.
They’d managed to get outside eventually, and after spending many hours being awed by the sheer amount of people walking around and the gigantic buildings all around them, Frisk actually managed to find some company for them to enjoy. After accidentally wandering into the monster region of the city, they’d found an old friend they didn’t think they’d see again, and quickly the child latched onto his side and happily started talking with him. It was a miraculous turn of fate, but Grillby actually lived in this world, the fire monster they’d rescued from the depths of their Alphy’s lab back home!
It was so nice to see him after so long, and in good health as well, he’d managed to get back to his home safe and sound! It wasn’t long before the two had ended up in his bar, with Grillby giving them chocolate milk for a drink while the child described why and how they’d ended up in this world. It was nice to actually talk about their fears and awe with someone, everyone had been too busy scrambling about back at the labs to actually talk to, or Frisk was too shy to talk about how they were feeling. Grillby was just as kind and understanding as he had been before though, and it wasn’t long before the two got on the topic of just what this place was, answering all the questions that Frisk had about the city (and even a few about Grillby himself since they’d always been curious about how he was made of fire-).It had gotten very late though as the two conversed, though Frisk didn’t realize how late until they’d heard a door open, and felt a pair of intense eyes staring into their back. The little human stiffened and looked a little fearful as they peeked over their shoulder, but relaxed a little once they’d spotted the familiar large skeleton standing by the door. Frisk quickly looked away and seemed a bit sheepish though, fiddling with the glass of chocolate milk in front of them as they waited for Sans to approach. They were probably in trouble for vanishing like that, after all...
