Let me make a couple things perfectly clear here and now:
Not posting about your stance on world issues on social media does not mean you are “silent” about it.
Your “silence” does not equate to “complacency” because I and nobody else has any right to judge you for not speaking out in a FB post or tweet.
There could be a number of reasons you choose not to. Maybe you live in an abusive household or you’ll get fired from your job if they discover your angry stance on our so-called “President’s” policies. Or maybe you just choose not to for your own mental sanity.
These are all valid reasons, and I and nobody else has any right to judge you.
Do not let anyone ever tell you that you are “complacent” for staying silent on social media. They don’t know you. They cannot make judgement calls on you based solely on your social media posts, or lack thereof. If they know you outside of that, then they know what kind of person you are already. You don’t owe anyone a thing.
You don’t have to prove a thing to anyone in your social media presence
You don’t have to prove a thing to anyone in your social media presence
This post goes out to every single person outraged by what is happening in the world but not consistently posting about it, or worse, is unable to. I see you. I love you. You are valid.
And do not let anyone on a social media handle ever tell you that you are “complacent” for being “silent”.
