Ps I love you mini series one shot (Liam)
This is for the angst chat..
Liam couldn't have been happier than the day he and Theo got married. It was three years after highschool. Everyone told them they were too young and should wait a few years. They didn't listen.
Instead they packed a weekend bag and hopped in Theo's truck. They had just enough cash for gas, a room for a few nights, food, and their plan. With a quick kiss you Liam's lips, Theo started the truck and drove off. They ignored their phones for three days, driving the pack to track them down. The pack made it just in time for their vows to be said.
Theo stood in a rented black tux, it was a bit baggy but Liam didn't care. He held Liam's hands in his, smiling like a lunatic. "Do you have your vows prepared?" The Elvis impersonator asked. Theo nodded and pulled a piece of paper from his suit pocket. "It's not much but it's everything I could think to say."
Theo unfolded the paper, holding it in front of him he looked up at Liam. "Promises are dumb and easily broken so I won't promise a single thing. What I will do is swear to love and protect you for years to come. I'll be your anchor, your friend, your partner. I love you baby wolf and I'll never stop."
Liam smiled knowing Theo would be true to his word. "And your vows?" Liam nodded and pulled the paper from his pants. He wore a dark blue tux that fit almost perfectly.
"You know I'm not one for words so this might be a bit short." Theo smirked. "I love you Theo and I'll continue to love you for the rest of my life. I can't imagine being without you. We fight together." Theo nodded and agreed. "Together." Both boys smiled.
"Very sweet very sweet. Do you have the rings?" Theo nodded and pulled two black metal bands from his pocket. He handed one to Liam and kept the other. "Alright, your vows have been said, now exchange rings." Liam slid his ring on Theo's finger and Theo slid his on Liam's. "By the power invested in me, from the great state of Nevada, I now pronounce you husband and husband. You may kiss your partner."
Theo and Liam both smiled as they leaned in and kissed. Elvis tossed silver and gold confetti over them as the pack clapped. It wasn't a great big wedding with their friends and family present but it was perfect. It was more than they could have wished for.
For three months Liam and Theo lived in wedded bliss. They got their first home, a loft in Derek's building. Liam got a new car, after selling the one that kept breaking down on him. Theo got a job as a lab assistant at the local college. It was all perfect.
Then Monroe made her final move. She had laid low after hearing about the McCall/Dunbar pack large numbers. They had taken in as many betas as they could. Before long they were the largest pack known. Monroe was scared but she had worked to grow her numbers as well. Now she was confident she could win.
She attacked all of them at night. Surrounding their homes and barging in guns blazing. Scott and Malia had fought back to back, taking down the intruders. Corey had went invisible and snuck him and Mason out. Lydia and Stiles had been lucky enough to not be home. Theo and Liam had fought side by side.
They worked together, moving in sync, to take down hunter after hunter. They took a few bullets and Liam had been stabbed but they made it out. It seemed the attack had failed but they were wrong.
Liam noticed it a few days letter. He didn't have the same strength, his healing was slowed, and his senses were dull. Soon Theo noticed it. He could see Liam struggle with things. Opening a jar, lifting weights, and healing from small cuts and scrapes. Even his bruises were healing slowly.
A week after the attack Liam collapsed in their kitchen. Theo barely caught him before his head had hit on the counter. Theo panicked, calling the pack as he rushed Liam to Deaton. He kept trying to wake Liam but the beta wouldn't move.
Hours of testing and waiting and they finally had an answer. Liam was dying. The hunters had poisoned him with a very special mix of wolfsbane, mountain ash, and liquid silver. From what Deaton gathered, there was no curing it. He gave Liam no more than a month to live.
Theo couldn't help but blame himself. The knife the hunter used to poison Liam had been meant for him but he wasn't paying attention to his back side. Liam had gotten in the way and was stabbed. It should have been Theo and that's all the chimera could think about as he watched his husband wither away and die.
The day Liam took his final breath was on the anniversary of their first date. Theo had taken Liam to the look out. He wanted to see Beacon Hills. Theo had his arms around Liam and was telling him about when he was younger and he thought that he saw big foot in the woods. When he was done with his story he looked down.
Liam had a smile on his face, his eyes closed, but his chest wasn't moving. Theo listened for a heartbeat. He caught the last three thumps it gave before it stopped completely. Liam had died in his arms, smiling as he listened to Theo talk. Theo had never cried so much. He swore his heart was gonna stop from how much it hurt.
