I forgot to post this here (I believe??) I have been busy with uni and stuff. It’s just some Lance x Bruno angst, it was supposed to be a fluff drawing but I got silly. I’ve always had this mental image of Bruno tracing the pattern of scars on Lance’s body. They aren’t a big insecurity of Lance’s but some days he feels better about his body than others.

My general yaoi recs are over here! Warning: there is a lot!

I don't look for angst a lot because I hate suffering lmao </3 But of course I've read and watched a lot despite that, so here is my recs for angst specifically:

Given (anime) - A beautiful story of loss, trauma, and healing. One of the best non-sexualized queer representation based on genuine connection. This one hits too close to home. I recommend watching the anime vs. reading the manga because it has music. The dub is really good too! (I watched both).

Alien Stage (animation) - Not technically a BL but it has canon queer characters. Doomed yaoi, doomed yuri, doomed straights. It has amazing story telling and world building for something with virtually no dialogue. It's an independent animation fully on Youtube, duration ~25 minutes.

No. 6 (anime) - New gen's don't know that this is peak 😭 A boy helps a fugitive, uncovering a seemingly perfect utopia's dark secrets. The ending reminds me of a Studio Ghibli movie, the way it doesn't give closure and focuses more on the journey and the impermanence of youth.

Double Trap (manhwa) - A college student is secretly in love with his roommate, and even hooks up with him one night. Only to find out that his roommate doesn't remember it at all.

Painter of the Night (manhwa) - In the dynasty era, a painter who specializes in erotica is hired by a noble to paint for him. Toxic, addicting, angst-filled whump.

Lost in the Cloud (manhwa) - A student gets blackmailed by another student for secretly photographing their classmate. It becomes a game of obsession, secrets, and exposure.

Low Tide in Twilight (manhwa) - An omega in debt has to repay with his body. Trigger warning on the dark topics. There's mixed reviews because of this, but I really enjoyed the character development.

Backlight (manhwa) - A talent manager ends up meeting with his first love. It sounds simple but it is very dark, suspenseful, dramatic, and addicting. I'm letting this one marinate for a while because it's still ongoing.

Jinx (manhwa) - Toxic angstslop but addicting if you love tropes like this. Toxic ML, too nice to be true MC. MC has the worst life ever. I fall for the same shit each time.

Not so much toxic yaoi as angst yaoi: au where rogue is a cis man and gambit is slowly having to convince him to come out of his shell and confront his internalized homophobia left over from his shit father. Note: rogue♂️ is very pro gay however he has a lot of panic around allowing himself to be gay

OKAY NOW I HAVE TO DESIGN A MALE ROGUE CAUSE I WANT TO DRAW HIM KISSING GAMBIT AAAAHHH but like I love the idea of Gambit helping Rogue feel more comfortable with his sexuality but there's just so much trauma from his abusive father and anytime Gambit even flirts with him he remembers all the horrible shit said to him and he panics and just runs away.
