Since there was a cheating MC ask, what about the opposite? Where the MC catch the RO looking like they are cheating (cause I don't think any of them would willingly cheat)? The angst train doesn't stop
This train cannot be stopped😆
No, they wouldn't willingly cheat ONCE they admit to themselves that they want something serious with the MC (looking at you S/A)
I really like this ask because it's funny to imagine. Let's see...
Theo/Thea - They're not so naive as to be caught in some really absurd situation (naked with someone because their clothes got stolen or sth) or chummy enough for someone to take advantage of that (they care about personal space). So I imagine a scene in which someone fell on top of them or they got tangled together in sth. They don't realise at first how it may look from the outside and raise their eyebrow at the MC when the MC stops abruptly, visibly taken aback. They are annoyed, want to get back their personal space as soon as they can and almost hiss at the MC to help them. By the time it's over, the MC can't seriously think that they caught T cheating, I mean T is obviously irritated about the incident and acts like a drama queen. If the MC cotinues to be suspicious and T notices, they will be hurt, because they feel like they aren't trusted (which is kind of true here).
BUT IF someone is daring enough to make a douchy move on T, like kissing them without their consent or something of the sort, they will be furious. Well, caught between anger and the urge to cry because they saw the MC making that hurt face. They explain to the MC what happened with the promise that they'll "deal with that person" (that person will not be able to show their face in high society ever again, no sir).
Selim/Aylin - They could be caught in situations like these easily, even more so if they're in a familiar location (like the main city in Unquiet Fields, where they grew up). They have ex lovers everywhere in the city, they don't know what a personal space is and they aren't used to think about other peoples' feelings (and habits die hard, don't they).
The moment when they see the MC's expression they realise how their situation can be misunderstood. The first instinct is to make a joke about it, letting the MC know that it's not what it seems. Then they think "but what if they don't believe me? What if I make things worse, I always make things worse, don't I?"
And after that, enter the panick. Now you have one confused and upset MC face to face with a scared and upset S/A who doesn't say anything, but doesn't let the MC storm out of the room, because they really think the MC will leave them. It takes a few minutes for them to calm down, talk with the MC and decide to be more careful next time.
Ilzrus - THE ONE THAT'S MOST PROBABLE to be caught in something like this. Because generally they don't get social cues and when they could get them, they are too distracted by sth in their head to actually get them. But the MC would have to spell it out for them because they won't think in a million years that the MC could truly believe they would cheat. They. A proud dragon. To lie. Hmph!
Things are a little more nuanced if they had the chance to feel jealousy before, because they'll understand there are times when your emotions get the best of you. In the end, when things clear out, they' begin to giggle because the MC is so "silly".
