consuming animal products is not something to be blamed on corporations/capitalism
animal cruelty and ethics ASIDE, to ‘environmentalists’ who know that animal agriculture is one of the leading causes of climate change, and makes up a great deal of the ‘evil’ corporations contributing to emissions, what is your point in putting all the blame on corporations and capitalism? for things like oil it makes sense- we need alternatives before the consumer can boycott otherwise they may not be able to sustain their livelihood. but to continue to consume animal products? there are alternatives. knowing that it is bad for the environment, but waiting for political and economic change, what do you expect? are you just hoping that others will make enough change doing what you lack the willpower to? that’s pathetic. are you waiting for animal product consumption to be outlawed or severely limited? if you really take down these ‘evil’ companies with your political actions what will do you when there are no more precious beef burgers, cow milk cheese/ice cream? being educated about the subject and consuming animal products doesn’t make sense no matter political stance. stop blaming corporations you actively contribute to unnecessarily. animal agriculture is not like transportation that actually does require a massive revolution without consumers jeopardizing their livelihood, going vegan is not that hard.

-plant-based diet is the cheapest by pound worldwide, vegans are typically lower class, @severelynerdysheep provides a lot of sources on this
-“not everyone can go vegan” it’s about what you CAN do, although this argument usually comes from abled-people
-”animal agriculture isn’t actually bad, eat honey and dairy...!” if a google search wasn’t enough to educate you I recommend @acti-veg. I have less of an arsenal of sources on this stuff but feel free to send an ask for a generalization of why a certain animal product is environmentally/ethically problematic.
-”migrant crop workers” it takes way more crops to feed the animals we eat, then more workers to manage those animals, and then more to slaughter them
