FINALLY DONE! I made a little emoji head of (almost) every Godzilla design :D

The notable exclusions are ToraGoji (because these are mostly based on an AU I'm working on with a friend, and part of the lore is that Tora doesn't actually look like that, that's just how the Americans decided to depict her in their movie about her, so my emoji for her is what she "actually" looks like), Hannah Barbera Goji (because in the lore, he's ToraGoji's dad and isn't seen), an Gyura Goji (because I just don't like his design at all, sorry u,u )

Maybe it's partly because I've been a lot less engaged with the Godzilla/kaiju/tokusatsu spheres of the internet the past couple years, but it's still pretty amazing how much AniGoji has been forgotten.

I found these relatively interesting films with a fresh take on Godzilla and a decently rich world imagined in which to stage the sci-fi drama.

Like with Godzilla SP, though, I think their scientific density, along with considerably light monster presence, make these a once or twice viewing experience for a lot of fans. They are somewhat slower-paced, ponderous films that deliver on a thoughtful, dark sci-fi story but perhaps leave something wanting for the kaiju genre.

In short, perhaps they're better dystopian dramas than Godzilla films? Still, I do like this incarnation of Godzilla, and the lead-up to and release of the films was enjoyable.
