Before Aoba even reached out to him Koujaku was moving to hold him. The sound, the sight, even the faint smell of his tears was enough to trigger the need to physically be there, to reassure him. He looped his arms under and around Aoba’s arms, haling him into his chest and resting his head down onto the side of Aoba’s head, breathing him in. “Shhh.” He acted without even thinking of how much he couldn’t believe Aoba would think him a burden. He could never be. He was so important to him. His own thoughts and emotions about it were regardless, they were at the back of his mind for all he wanted was to console Aoba. He breathed into the embrace again gently wrapping his arms further around him. “You could never be a burden to me. I am here for you. I’ll always be by your side. It’s ok to be scared, don’t let it concur you. Don’t give in.”
Aoba clung to him like a child, his teeth chattering and his shoulders hunched, eyes closed tight and his body quivering. He let out choked sobs, pathetically hiding his face to the fabric of Koujaku's kimono. Tears stained it, making it a little uncomfortable at first, but he didn't mind, just moving his face to another part of his shoulder. He felt pathetic, holding to him and crying stupidly. But Koujaku's words, his sweet statements made him relax a bit, especially the last ones. Don't give in... He stay quiet for a while, silent tears on his cheeks before he tensed up more, crying even harder to his shoulder.
