New Release: "Chicken" Bock (6.9%) This brand new entry into our #AnimalLagerSeries is available for presale now on @biermiplease (link in bio) and drops on Wednesday in the tap room and across our @truerespite_distro footprint. Stylistically, "Chicken" Bock (6.9%) rests comfortably within the wheelhouse of a traditional amber-colored lager first brewed in the 14th century in Einbeck, Germany. Rich, malt-driven flavors of honey, caramel, and toast feature with a clean yeast profile offered by a fascinating high pressure lager yeast cultured by our friends at @jasperyeast. Traditionally, Bock beers have been marketed with a billy goat given the German translation of Bock is, in fact, billy goat. However, we must also recognize that Bock is the sound chickens make while GOAT has come to mean Greatest Of All Time in contemporary vernacular. Understanding these new connotations, we opted to modernize these associations for the American market in our Animal Lager Series. And speaking of "Goat"... Tasting barrels yesterday confirmed that it's almost barrel season! With the arrival of September comes a wave of malt-forward beers. For many, this is undoubtedly the best time of year for beer drinking. While we love our malty beers, the real magic begins when the weather turns and those first barrel aged treats start to hit taps. We love breaking out the bottling line and putting together some truly special, extra small batch beers for you. In that vein, this year could very well be the year of the barrel for us as we're sitting on an absolute stockpile of excellent barrel aged projects and interesting collabs that are ready to be released. In particular, the Imperial Rye ale aged in @sagamorespirit Rye Whiskey barrels we brewed in collaboration with @absolutelywineandspirits is drinking heavenly at the moment. Release day is not far off for this one!
