K.K. Slider has arrived in Night City to reclaim his throne as the king of video game musicians

I ran a series of polls a while ago pitting K.K. Slider against some of Night City's most iconic musicians (Johnny Silverhand, Kerry Eurodyne, and Us Cracks)... and well, to say he swept them all would be an understatement. So I decided to give the people what they want and bring K.K. to Night City officially.

This mod adds three radio stations that play nothing but K.K. Slider songs from Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

107.7 K.K. Radio plays the radio tracks

107.8 K.K. Acoustic plays acoustic tracks, the versions that K.K. plays on Saturdays in the town square

107.9 K.K. Beats plays the remixed tracks, which DJ K.K. plays during the Happy Home Paradise beach concert <- (If I had to pick one station, I personally think these are the tracks that most fit the vibe of driving around Night City, but that's my personal opinion)

Is it ridiculous that I decided to make my first-ever mod something dumb? Yeah. Do I expect to get taken out by Nintendo snipers any second now? Also yeah. Do I regret it? Fuck no.

hellllloooo night city. this is a draft of my animal crossing recreation of this 2019 cyberpunk e3 trailer. yes i am not good at video editing. i dont care. this vision has plagued me for weeks and i must see it through

Cyberpunk characters as Animal Crossing animals

I've put way too much thought into this so I might as well write it out somewhere. no, i am not planning on recreating cyberpunk scenes in animal crossing, why do you ask

V = boring answer, but this has to be the villager. V is a player character in an RPG so personality is loosely customizable. however if I had to pick an animal for male V and female V each, I think I'd pick these two: Rudy the jock cat and Katt the sisterly cat

Johnny = KK Slider. there's the whole musician angle but also just sheer importance means I think he deserves to be an NPC animal. (I almost made him Eugene the smug koala who has music as a hobby, but then I decided Eugene belongs to someone else--see below.)

Jackie = Kevin the jock pig. I was torn between Kevin and Coach the jock bull, but decided on Kevin because he's still got that youthful energy and I think part of the point of Jackie is that he's a little naive and dies too young. plus his home is a wrestling ring.

Misty = Celeste. hear me out: Katrina is an obvious choice because of her crystal ball fortune-telling mechanic, and Luna is related to dreams but she's too old imo. Celeste 1. runs a shop or observatory (well, she used to...), 2. teaches the player about astrology whenever they come to her with questions about a star fragment in New Horizons, and 3. is much friendlier to the player than Katrina. honestly Misty was hard because I wasn't sure which was more important to capture between her goth aesthetic, her game purpose, or her personality. I went with a blend of the latter two. however if not an NPC, then I'd go with Vesta the normal sheep.

Vik = I struggled with him. Raddle the frog doctor isn't a good choice imo because he's a lazy type, and our Vik isn't lazy. Vic the cranky bull is the obvious answer because he is cranky and also has a fitness hobby, but something about his viking theme doesn't feel right for our Vik either. here's my other option: Wilbur. who wears shades and is always there to get you where you need to go, day or night. he also has the same voice as the cranky villagers. idk! I'm open to suggestions for this one.

Panam = Phoebe the ostrich. 'cause of the whole hothead thing. she also has fitness as a hobby. also her house has a bonfire in it lol

Judy = Sally the normal squirrel. of all the normal villagers she has the most Judy energy to me

Kerry = Lopez the smug deer. just... look at him. that's the strut of a man who should be going to bed at 9pm these days but he won't because he thinks he can still keep up with the kids.

River = another one I struggled with but I landed on Rooney the cranky kangaroo with a fitness hobby. I know people are gonna say "He should be Booker or Cooper!!" but the whole point of River is that he leaves the force to focus on his family and his own business.

Takemura = Walt the cranky kangaroo. he has a traditional Japanese house and also has fitness as a hobby.

Hellman = Leopold the smug lion. because look at him

Evelyn = Naomi the snooty cow. none of the sisterly villagers really matched her energy

Alt = Portia the snooty dog, who has fashion as her hobby. Alt is another hard one because I wasn't sure whether to prioritize her hobby as education (for netrunning), fashion (for modeling), or music (for her love of the arts). other contenders were Blanche the ostrich and Olivia the cat. I went with Portia because she's the only snooty dog, and I figure a dog ties into her and Johnny/KK's doomed romance, but I think a case could be made for any of the ones I listed.

T-Bug = Reneigh the sisterly horse. she's also got a cabana-style house which I think fits how Bug just wanted to retire after the heist.

Dexter DeShawn = Eugene the smug koala. truthfully I think Eugene could've been Johnny or Dino as well, both of whom are rockerboys who wear shades. I think for Dex, an argument could be made for Roswell the smug (formerly lazy) alligator because, well, predator. and I know people are gonna go "Redd is a scammer, he fits as Dex!!" but the problem is that Redd and Roswell just don't have smug fixer energy: Redd is a solo operation and Roswell looks like he spends his nights standing in a field waiting for the mothership to send him new orders. imagining Dex as a koala ordering V to be pinned down as he shoots them in the face is both 1) much easier, and 2) really funny to me.

Rogue = Quinn the sisterly eagle. I'm trying to give the more powerful or "established" characters (like fixers, Arasakas, corpos, FIA) animals at the top of the food chain (like eagles, bears, wolves). so Rogue as an eagle just makes sense to me. she could eat a lot of these other characters for breakfast yet chooses not to.

Claire = Sydney the normal koala. another hard one because there aren't enough normal types that have a sports hobby (to represent her street racing). but Claire gives me koala energy and they both wear overalls, lol

Nix = Zell the smug deer. he's got a nighttime cityscape-style house and honestly just has sly netrunner energy

Saburo Arasaka = option one: make him Tom Nook, for the obvious kingpin angle. this sets up Timmy or Tommy as Yorinobu, though, which I don't think fits as well. option two: Dobie the cranky wolf, to go along with my "Arasakas as wolves" strategy. I'm leaning toward the latter tbh

Yorinobu Arasaka = as mentioned above, if I go with Tom Nook as Saburo, that would make Yorinobu Timmy or Tommy. which doesn't really fit, although Timmy or Tommy killing Tom Nook is conceptually kind of funny. instead I suggest Kyle the smug wolf because he has more punk energy and has the music hobby, which represents his gang background and how he's a fan of Johnny's.

Hanako = Vivian the snooty wolf. another reason I'm leaning toward the Arasakas=wolves angle, because Timmy and Tommy do not have a sister to represent Hanako lmao

Smasher = I would say Ribbot who's literally a jock robot, but he just doesn't have Smasher energy because he's so cute... so I'm tempted to go with Copper the police dog. unfortunately I can't really think of another larger NPC who's got villainous energy; the only huge NPC is Wardell who's also too nice. another option could just be Groucho the cranky bear because of his face and I could dress him up in scifi armor, lol.

Reed = Apollo the cranky eagle. I love Apollo very much and i have him on my island, but if he existed irl, he'd be a fed. he's cool, he wears leather jackets, he's probably been a bouncer, and he's cranky but caring, just like Reed. but he'd still be a fed.

Songbird = Shari the sisterly monkey. look, there's a lot of really good options for Songbird imo and I could accept other takes on this. but I like the idea of her being the ONLY monkey on this list to represent how she's a foil to V, lmfao

Myers = Freya the snooty wolf. Freya's just really the closest I could get to a jock-type female wolf because imo Whitney, Skye, and Audie definitely don't fit

Alex = Pashmina the sisterly deer. she's also got music for a hobby.

Delamain = ngl I would probably make him a gyroid if I included him at all. but for villagers, Cephalobot. octopus robot. pretty much the closet thing we'll get to an alien AI in this series

I wanted to add more NPCs to this list but frankly I think most of them are just too friendly, with the exception of Redd, who I think would be Stefan lol. I also wanted to add Resetti but the closest I could think of to match a guy with anger issues is that Robert guy who runs the Second Amendment. maybe if V had a landlord who called them up regularly to yell at them, it'd be Resetti.

I'm running out of smug and snooty types because Cyberpunk would be full of those lmao but I'll try to write up the Edgerunners characters later
