Obviously terrified and in line, he experienced the cut at the hands of the butcher. Freaked out uncontrollable, he ended up escaping. He wanted to live! Animal-lovers in the area called VSPCA. He was treated, has healed and is a member of our community of a few thousand. Only a few thousand get saved?? Who are we to determine who dies and who lives? Isn’t it “thou shalt not kill” include everyone? Most of us love animals. But we distance ourselves from animals we use, with language. We tend to sick pets with so much love but then set aside this tenderness by eating “meat.” No butcher really wants to kill. But they believe “meat is necessary” for humans. “Meat isn’t necessary” for the human diet. No animal is “meat;” nor “entertainment” nor a “lab experiment for the benefit of humankind.” Animals are individuals. They suffer. We may build into our language, tradition and habit - killing and eating them. This doesn’t mean they don’t want to live. Going vegan means you don’t take/use against its will, what is not yours in the first place. If we understand this in our core, we’ve taken the first step towards peace. Please visit VSPCA.org. Donate when you can to help us spread the word.
