yesterday i saw a speech of gary yourofsky, i am a meet-eater (at least untill yesterday), every question i had about why no meat, why there are vegan diets, aren’t we supposed to eat meat, dairy and eggs, weren’t we “programmed” to have these foods on a daily basis, and if not, why there are then so many misconceptions, why people from the meat or dairy industry say nothing, was covered. i did not know, i assumed as everyone else that the conditions in slaughterhouses must be awful (especially for the victims), but did i know that the people there abuse (in the worst way of abuse) animals? well i had an idea about that but who cares, meat is good for your health, everyone says that, am i a fool not to know that, pff.... In the dairy production, how on earth they make so many liters of milk? well, pill, machines, technology in general, is “helping” the PREGNANT cow (yeah that’s why the cow has milk, for her baby) to produce milk, and guess what happens to the baby after giving birth to it... of course they don’t let it with its mother, and of course they don’t take it at home as a pet... that’s right, they sell them to the meat industry and we all know the procedure that follows! and i am not a mother, yet i know and i realize the pain of the cow who has just given birth and the same people who made her to do so take and murder her baby, you think i m being dramatic? well how would you call that, let me know.. every time when we talk about the matter someone will ssay something like “the animals have rights too!” and then giggles..HELL YEAH THEY HAVE RIGHTS, since when we decide who has rights and who hasn’t, and although i m from the people that do not accuse everything of being racist but if not recognizing the rights of another species is not racist then what is? the humankind has destroyed habitats, has extinct species and has no respect on the land that it was given, yet that was not enough, so we decided to breed billions of cows, hens, pigs that would end up in our stomach... so please i ask you to be open-minded and understand what is behind all these, no it is not the care of the industries for our health...money, that is all, and now i am asking, is it worth it, for just the taste to murder animals so that someone will gain loaaads of money. well for me it is not and so my decision was not a choice, it was the least i could do to minimize that pain...be open minded.
