Icons of Patagonia 6U8A9858 by Daniel D'Auria Via Flickr: Patagonia is a sparsely populated region of South America that includes regions of Chile and Argentina. It is known for its majestic vistas and hiking trails. It is also known for its iconic national parks, breathtaking mountain peaks, and a few wondrous animal species that inhabit the remote region. Having an opportunity to capture two of Patagonia’s icons in one frame was euphoric. The mountain peaks at Torres del Paine and the Pumas that live there are nothing short of spectacular. Managing to slow my breathing enough to take the hand-held shot was nothing short of a miracle. Trekking up the mountain slopes with gear in tow make me realize that I’m not as young as I once was.
