Aurghh time for another Perceptor Rant.
I like TFA Percy's design because he's not just a microscope - he's also got a vehicle mode, which sort of works with that microscope altmode to form some kinda mixed design, and I really like that!
[this may or may not be spurring on my ideas for a triple-changer perceptor AU but we'll see how it goes, and if anyone even wants to see that...]
I think it's pretty interesting how he's able to use his car altmode as a microscope at the very same time, but it's cool how he also looks like a computer terminal on the inside there, too. All the better to analyze with!
Now, this mech has a lot of dials, parts, etc, and here's what corresponds to what, as far as I can tell:
The bigger dials on his legs are for moving your slide/stage up and down.
The smaller dials on his arms are for moving your slide/stage left and right.
The one on top of his scope is for focusing his lens.
Two more dials on either side his helm for adjusting brightness, given the thing on his forehead looks like a light.
Wasn't sure what the thing on his forehead was rightaway, but after working with microscopes, I do believe that might be the actual light that illuminates your samples (substage light!)
On his chassis is something that looks like the stage.
Kibble on his back transforms into more car bits, which would correspond to the arm and base of an actual microscope.
As for the rest of his frame, he doesn't look too microscope-y, not as much as say.. Cyberverse or IDW Perceptor, but this is TFA.. the designs are more cartoony than the others, in a certain way.
His design is very clever.. as is he. I love this microscope!!!!
