Experiments with old negatives today on the lightbox proved interesting to animate. The layering provided opportunities for abstract, colour, line and movement, whilst happening upon the familiar from time to time as a coming to light of a memory or documetation of an old piece of work.

Week 2 Devise Animated experiments
My aim for this week is to come up with 10 animation experiments to try and discuss with ‘playmates’
I’m thinking from animating household objects, animating my old Pippa dolls to areas where I feel less comfortable such as flat 2d drawn animation
Here, is an experiment where I tried burning my artwork from the center. I think it didn’t turn out that great because of how windy it was outside but also I didn’t get the effect I was going for. Overall, I don’t think i’ll use this technique in my work.
Here, is some experiments for my animation. I had an idea for my animation that I could burn photos of the toffee factory to represent the fire that happened there and edit it on after effects. I think this mix media would be a good idea because it will make the animation look more realistic but also show the history of the building. Above, I only burnt paper once from the outside corners and then once from the middle to see which effect I preferred for when I use the technique with my artwork.
This is my first experiment with the zooming out shot, I feel like it wasn’t zoomed out enough at the end. On my next experiment I’ll try and zoom out more to show more of the scenery and the factory.
