Overall, I enjoyed working on this film because it gave me the opportunity to explore and practice techniques in animation that I havenβt had the chance to before. I was able to do animation tests using rotoscope, motion graphics, and free hand frame-by-frame digital animation. Although I felt that we digressed from our original βnarrativeβ, we decided to think of the film more of as an opportunity to test out ideas/techniques for our fourth year film. As a stand alone film, I would like to keep working on this, but as of now, I am excited about how it has prepared me for the fourth year film β I definitely feel more confident and prepared to start the grad film as a result of this film. Β
As the film comes to a close one of the main things I am prepared for when it comes to fourth year is the uncertainty that comes with experimental animation because despite storyboards and planning the end product was unexpected. On the other hand, I was glad we were able to experience this first hand. In addition, experimenting with techniques such as motion graphics and rotoscoping also paved a clearer path for fourth year and certain aspects we would like to use in making another film.
