I just received the logh cel I ordered recently. It's from episode 83 shortly after Yang's death.

Unfortunately the paper is in direct contact with the cel so it is stuck to it and I'm not sure if I should risk removing it and damaging the cel.

i hope you guys dont mind that i like sharing my nerdy things with you

some of you know and most of you don’t - but Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland is my favorite animated film of all time

this is my cel collection so far

some info/trivia under the cut for those who are unfamiliar or have a very vague childhood memory of this film

Most people are familiar with the NES game, which was actually based on this movie, which was based on Winsor Mckay’s original comic strip from the 1920s (i have all of the comics in book anthology format)

this movie was NOT disney, contrary to what most people think - and it isn’t don bluth either - its a movie that went through severe development hell and no one really knows who owns the rights now. It WAS however directed by a former Disney animator.

My favorite part about it though is that it’s animated by TMS Entertainment (At the time known as Tokyo Movie Shinsha) studio, the studio responsible for Akira and several iterations of Lupin III, and also had a Japanese animation director. TMS was frequently outsourced to do “western” style animation. (One of my favorite cartoon series, Galaxy High, was also done by them). If you ever see a western style animated movie or cartoon that seems to have a very “anime” feel, it was probably animated by TMS. 

it should be no surprise to anyone that this style is a big influence on my own. 😝
