「⛤」—» The first thing Matthew Murdock had learned about being blind was that, no matter how strong or how smart you were, no matter how well you could handle yourself, people would also see you as something fragile. Something vaguely broken, or askew. And thus, you would be avoided, treated like glass, always to be looked at with pity except by the cruelest of humanity. He hated it, but that was just how it was. There was no way to change it, and he knew he would always be seen as the boy made of china, even if behind everything he was the man without fear. He had accepted it, and, at times, when it was a convenience him, accepted it. And after all these years, he had grown used to it.
So when a scalding hot cup of coffee was veritably launched at him, Matt couldn’t help the vague surprise that rushed through him. He knew it was coming far before it reached him, of course, smelled the sharp scent of the coffee beans and the artificial tang of the plastic cup that held it. He also knew right when the lid flew off, the small shifts in air pressure as the individual drops scattered. And he definitely knew when the now-empty cup bounced harmlessly off the top of his head, a fine rain of coffee dotting the soft cloth of his suit. For a moment, Matt was still, but before long a faint smile crept upon his lips, a sense of irony and vague amusement attached.

Shockingly enough, Isaac's luck has changed today. He's managed to get his hands on an extra movie ticket, though there's a slight complication with that. He has no one to go with right now, all of his 'friends' happen to be busy. It shouldn't be too big of a deal to give a stranger some movie ticket to an action film, should it? "Hey, I don't know if you actually like these kind of movies, but have a free ticket." He places the small piece of paper in the other boys palm. Isaac shrugs, not exactly sure what to say afterwards. "I'm watching the same one, so we could watch it together? Wait. That sounds weird. Okay, well. Just take that and.. yeah." Isaac Lahey does it again, the crowd goes wild; another weak attempt at social interaction goes miserably.

It was amazing how much magic could be drawn from simple pages in a book, coloured black with ink. The amount of wonder and awe spurred by fiction was probably over the top for a boy of seventeen, but his passion for the comic books had rekindled when he met someone fortunate enough to share his interest. He was delighted to have someone to talk to about the adventures of the hero and his friends.
“Wasn’t it cool when he broke that whole building in half?! He’s invincible!” The pinching of papers eased as he flipped through them, eyes scanning for the exact scene he was talking about. “There! Right there, see? I thought that was amazing. The author is really good at making up these tough situations. She’s also good at writing the characters; they’re so interesting.” He flipped the manga closed and slapped it into Dirk’s hands.
“Ah-- This too.” From the shelf he grabbed another one, a completely different series by name but with similar-looking characters, signalling a story of the same genre. “If you like that one you’ll like this one too. What else’re you into? Fantasy? Comedy?” He picked through each and every shelf, pausing every once and again to hear his company’s thoughts and preferences, giving a few nods and laughs of joy as he thought about the series he used to read and ones he heard all about throughout school.
Though the blond was a bit hesitant, or perhaps thrown off by the younger’s enthusiasm, Aoi would like to think they enjoyed their time filing through the book store’s collection. He’d been given a chance to talk about something he never once got to speak of within the date club or at home, where he’d spent most of his time previous to his life here. He was still bouncing with energy by the time he dragged Dirk to the cashier with far too many copies.
“Maa, you gotta text me as you read, m’kay? Next time introduce me to your favourites!”
Send "Rawr!" for my muse being ridiculously cute to your muse.

“I’d hate to break it to you, man, but I have no clue what ‘manga’ is.” During his time at East High, he’d come across the term when a hyped up classmate approached him about being ‘similiar’ to the protagonist of some popular sports-related manga whose title escaped him at the moment. He smiled apologetically whilst still looking a tad befuddled at how the topic came about in the first place. “I’m pretty out of the loop.” Which was unusual, given how he was always referred to as the guy who was ‘in the know’ about most things.
