(( opinions: Jaime, Leo, Vikata, and Saria, please! ))

(( Jaime: Anju has yet to formally meet Jaime, though I think they have been on the dash at the same time in the past. At the moment, she just knows him in passing as the person who hit Vika with a shovel for eating the dead. While she understands where Jaime is coming from, she doesn’t agree with him entirely… finding his reaction pushy, inappropriate, and as equally inconsiderate as Vika was inadvertently being. 

She hasn’t written Jaime off as being unreachable, so she would not be opposed to having a discussion in the future. But it would be a conversation where careful treading was needed… just because death (and things regarding it) is a topic they’re both very passionate about.

Leo: They haven’t talked in a while, but Anju still holds a torch for Leo. Not that she’d ever share, but he’s been the inspiration behind a few secret poems and a few unfinished songs. She’s very fond of him, holding him dear… even if time takes them in other directions and they don’t see each other much anymore.

Vika: Her opinion of him has been something of a rollercoaster. From interested to sour, to pitying, to bewildered. She’s not sure what to think of him, but he is someone she feels she needs to treat carefully. Vika’s very genuine and open… and Anju believes the faith he’s placed thusfar in her is blind and foolish. That in turn has brought out a softer side of her, one where she hopes to avoid stepping on his feelings and tries to look out for him when she’s able.

Saria: She hasn’t had any interactions with Saria beyond Cards Against Humanity, thus no opinion on Anju’s end. But if she knew some of her statements in the chat had bothered Saria, Anju would be quick to apologize… since it was not her aim to make light of painful memories. Future interactions would obviously dictate further opinions, but Saria’s someone Anju might feel a sort of kinship with… given that their parents feature prominently in their tragic pasts. ))

((ANJU in Silent Hill AU! It seems fitting honestly))

(( I don’t really know a lot about Silent Hill tbh, so I’m just gonna wing it and hope it sounds okay. ))

I feel like she’d be some kind of monster... a creature that sticks to the shadows with round glowing eyes and red cape. about the same height as normal Anju (5′1″) and appears girlish (if dirty, ragged, and off) at first. the moppet look is obviously meant to deceive... and that ruse is furthered throughout the game because at first the Anjumonster won’t attack the player. you’d catch it watching you, but it flits away before anything can be done.

later on though, it would start following you as you pick your way through different parts of the town. the distance would be notable at first... but over time the creature creeps closer... and closer... and closer. when you hear its footsteps behind you, don’t stop moving and don’t attempt to turn around because it’ll be on you immediately. if you’re lucky enough to catch a glimpse of her before you’re shredded to ribbons, she looks a lot more monstrous... possibly more animal-like. avenAnju makes me think of a wolf tbh... because of the red cape, because of her behavior. so maybe the more aggressive form of its monster self is wolf-like in appearance.

I guess all of it would represent Anju’s struggles with self-control? she wants to work past her family’s brainwashing that she is a predator and the rest of the world is her prey. but there is an animalistic part of her that revels in the hunt and in taking the life of her meals. she gets tempted into that viciousness very easily and has no concept of balance because of that.

so Anju’s monster version would mirror that internal conflict in its behavior and shift in appearance. it most likely follows one target the whole time and avoids attacking them in favor of observing. but the temptation proves to be too great and it eventually closes the distance and goes in for the kill.

((Opinions about poetry, what does she fancy and what does she hate?))

(( she sees it as an art form… a beautiful marriage between prose and music because of its lyrical quality. she likes the versatility of poetry. there are patterns but they can be broken, ignored, or formed into something new as the writer chooses.

her favorite poet of all time is Emily Dickinson. she’s also interested in Edgar Allan Poe and Edna St. Vincent Millay… so that might give you an idea of the type of poetry that she’s drawn to. there’s not really anything about poetry that Anju hates. she gets frustrated when things don’t flow and she’ll cringe at a poem that’s too rough, or not particularly creative. but she believes that’s all part of the process of creating art. and in her eyes, art is never quite finished. there’s always room to tweak and edit. ))

Anju collects items and body parts that once belonged to her meals. in particular, she keeps bits of cloth stained with the blood of her victims. she usually does this if she thinks whomever’s blood tasted or smelled delicious. if she’s at home, she’ll often bring out her collection of rags and will sit on the floor sniffing and nibbling the small bits of cloth. she keeps other parts of her collection in her wallet. some of the items that’re in there include, but aren’t limited to: bones (usually fingers or toes), teeth, spare roses, and trinkets of interest... such as jewelry or magical items.

she bites her hands, usually on the meat of her palms when she’s in deep thought. her teeth are sharp enough to create injuries, but she heals fast and rarely scars so it’s a habit that isn’t easily noticed by others. Anju’s absentminded and most likely needs to be nudged out of this in the future.

as I mentioned before, she doesn’t bathe as much as she should with soap and water. but she will take a dust bath now and then. it’s easy to tell when she’s done it because her hair and clothes will be covered in dirt.

I’m going to skip ship names bc I promise you, whatever I came up with will be really uninteresting.

Anju/Zephyrthey seem to have some commonalities. Zephyr might be able to understand Anju a little more than others bc of their struggles with empathy and ideas spread to them through their parents. at the moment it seems like it could develop into a friendship if given enough time and care. I don’t know what Zephyr’s romantic preferences are... so it’s hard to say whether they would be compatible on that level.

all around, Zephyr is more collected and stable than Anju is on a good day. her wildness might be a bit much for them but continued association might nudge Anju into being less feral overall. in turn, she might encourage him to express some of his feelings more... so that his worst thoughts don’t explode outwards but trickle out at a reasonable rate.

Anju/Lars Letha mentioned before that Anju scares Lars and that he doesn’t want anything to do with him. given that they’ve never spoken and gotten to understand each other better, that probably hasn’t changed. Anju’s not all that aware of who Lars is either. if you told her she’s been following his blog for months or if you pointed him out on the dash, she’d give you a blank look. so atm it seems like a non-ship.

Anju/CarmacCarmac would really put Anju on edge, were they to meet in person.  she wouldn’t be able to really explain why that is… there’s just something telling her not to get too comfortable or to let her guard down. her discomfort would only grow if she saw or learned what he was capable of. she’d be stuck between wanting to challenge him and wanting to get the fuck out of dodge.

I don’t know whether Carmac would see Anju in a similar light. as of now, they haven’t spoken. it’s hard for me to say that this crackship would be negative for that reason. but despite Anju’s mistrust, she wouldn’t be opposed to a partnership between the two of them. their needs do go hand in hand... it’s possible that they could accomplish more working together than they did apart. not sure if the arrangement would be stable or lasting though.

screeches and shrieks really irk her because they’re loud and lack a melodic quality. she also doesn’t like dry, scratchy noises... or anyone attempting to wield an instrument they have little experience with. the discord in notes bothers her.

she is a huge fan of merfolk melodies. she knows that they’re not always singing songs and may just be speaking to one another, but the sounds inspires her. Anju also likes the sound of bells tinkling, along with the clink that comes from tapping champagne flutes against one another. she enjoys the sound that comes from running a finger around the rim of a wineglass filled with water as well. ))

My apologies for the late response... I hope that my gratitude shines through despite my tardiness. What few hours I spent awake were unremarkable, yet I slept well on that day.

((Opinions: Leo, Akira, Motty, Moxie, Jamie))

(( Leo + Akira can be found here. 

Motty: I don’t think either of them have interacted. I’m sure she’s reblogged something from him before but Anju’s the type of social recluse that will engage people once they’ve made the first move. She currently doesn’t have an opinion of Motty because of their lack of interaction.

I think he’s another person that would alternately fascinate and repulse Anju. Motty’s upbringing and outlook is so different from her own. She would want to pick his brain to understand his views and where that gentleness comes from. But over time, the seeming innocence would grind on her nerves.

Moxie: I’m not sure if Anju’s interacted with Moxie either. She really hasn’t spoken or done anything with a good chunk of characters OTL No canon opinion as of yet. Moxie has a nurturing, motherly personality. Her own mother was cold and very hands-off in her interactions. She’d gift Anju with a new dress or book but left it at that. Moxie’s much warmer in her interactions and how she handles people. Anju wouldn’t know how to respond to it… she’d be polite but it’d take her a bit to really show warmth back, should they develop a positive relationship.

Jamie: She’s talked to Jamie a few times and doesn’t feel one way or the other about him. He’s more crass than anyone she shows major interest in. She doesn’t ignore him if he talks to her but she doesn’t actively seek him out for conversation either. Mostly he’s just sort of there to her.

They’d probably have a bit of common ground when it came to high society stuff… the expectations placed on them by authority figures and the beliefs they were meant to absorb. But that would require Anju to actually open up more about her past… which isn’t likely to happen with someone she has so few experiences with. ))

((Opinions: Akira, Leo, Dweller))

(( Akira: She’s not sure of what to make of Akira right now. Prior to this experience they didn’t have much of a personal relationship. Akira hired her as an associate and they have chatted here and there on the dash. But they haven’t spent any time hanging out or getting to know each other on a less professional level.

Akira’s interest in helping her and apparent wish to place more trust in her mystify Anju. She’s wary (it’s not personal, just Anju’s general paranoia of others), but curious. Akira’s recent help has made Anju more open. So while she doesn’t quite understand the shift in mindset, she’s not opposed to seeing what happens with further interactions. 

Leo: Anju thinks he’s extremely gallant. She admires his elegance, charm, and wit. Her crush still marches on, as nothing has happened to make it fade. Anju falls in and out of infatuation often; it’s rare for her to act on her romantic interests because of that. She didn’t think too deeply on her crush or her relationship with Leo.

But recent events have her considering him in a more serious light. He seems to care about her wellbeing to a larger degree than she previously thought. As of now she is tentatively viewing him as a close friend.

Dweller: I’m not sure if they’ve spoken before… Anju might have reblogged something off of her in the past (and vice versa), but other than that I don’t think they have interacted much. As of now, Anju has no opinion of her.

She would be heavily interested in Dweller’s views on death. Anju fixates on death because the grieving process has been her main window into empathy and taking others into consideration. Depending on whether or not they got along, I think she would start to consider Dweller as an emotional mentor… someone she could ask for insight when it comes to understanding others. ))
