I KNEW IT. As soon as i reblogged the prompt i thought “Lieju’s gonna ask for a Fantomius character” AND VOILA HERE WE ARE. i did think henry was most likely tho so points for dolly
im combining dolly duck and dolly paprika for simplicity’s sake. its not like she has any comics not as paprika anyway.
favorite thing about them
the amount of spite and grudge she contains for the elite society she grew up in
super althletic. i aspire to her physical ability and grace
knowledgable & educated,,, she’s the one who knows the deets on all the places she and john visit. She knows music.
least favorite thing about them
this is less a complaint about her and more a wish for the future, but i’d love to see a story where she leads the action… so far, either she and john work together about equally, or john does the actiony bits while she’s either doing a background task looking pretty or is not around at all. (and yeah i know the series is “Fantomius” but come on.)
I think @madmachaca posted this recently but it’s worth posting again:
John, Copernico, Lucrezia
oh boy this is gonna be more than one headcanon are you ready.
She was influenced by writers and journalists like Ida Tarbell, Mark Twain, Ida Wells, etc. It was a combination of her own experiences feeling trapped in a prison by her position and this reading that lead her to support (and join) Fantomius.
(This mirrors Zorro and Robin Hood influencing John).
She’s a born-and-raised Duckburgian (unlike John). She grew up around all the nobility and capitalists that she and John are antagonizing. It’s more personal for her. They both focus on the inherent injustice in a Duckburg upper-class. However, while John just wants to see the pretentious pricks eat dirt, for Dolly, she’s almost punishing them, pk-style, for their treating her badly and boxing her in.
Her successor Paperinika became a heroine in order to prove that women can be just as powerful and good as men, and to get revenge on Donald and Scrooge, who were particularly bad towards her. Dolly plays the personal revenge bit, but she’s also involved in the women’s rights movements of the time. In 1917-20, she used to sneak out of the house to go help Duckburgian suffragettes organize for the vote.
she starts painting as she gets older, both paintings for fun, and forgeries to continue raising money for the poor after her thief days.
She doesn’t like swimming, but she loves scenic drives.
While John sorta had a vague idea of ~giving to the poor~, Dolly is actually familiar with some of the specific communities and charities in Duckburg that could use the loot (thanks to her earlier activism).
uh. what opinions are out there?
song i associate with them
i couldnt decide but here are a few of em
send me a character and give me an excuse to ramble about them!
