To add to that anon's compliments, I also wanted to say I really appreciate the sweet relationships in OHTMB as a whole ^^ The part where Nebula and Kraglin are sharing snacks (anmanl), and the brief mention of Nebula and Loki sparring and that being one of the most enjoyable parts of the week. The part where Quill says they fly through storms because it helps Loki sleep ;_; I love it so much. I'm currently reading another Loki fic and it's really good but it made me so sad. I Literally had to stop and think about yours instead for a bit because at least in ohtmb Loki has friends who can empathize or at least sympathize with him and aren't directly involved in or related to his traumas lol Also it completely makes sense (at least to me) that Quill would decide to "adopt" Loki - GotG ended with Gamora saying that Yondu wasn't Quill's only family, and Quill saying he was going to keep an eye on everyone (i.e. not split up) and they all knew each other for maybe a week tops? I think some people would think Loki wouldn't want to join the GotG but honestly they're the right mix of caring/sensible/chaotic and they don't just immediately label him as untrustworthy or irredeemable because at least half of them have also killed people etc. lol. It just works. Thanks for making something that makes sense and feels like canon but doesn't hurt as much <3

i am a huge fan of peppering little interactions throughout a story to make it feel more like these people live together and interact with each other on a daily basis. also nebula's love language is just peacefully sharing space because she does not do that with just anyone, let alone casually sharing snacks with them lmao. and re: her and loki, i like to think that their relationship is similar to ron swanson and the one guy he worked with for years and never knew his name. "we literally never speak more than three words to each other and i beat him up once a week for fun. one of the best friends i ever had"

OH GOSH the name! i wanted to stick to the theme of using lyrics from guardians-esque songs, and i was just skipping through my peter quill's zune playlist like "eh? no. eh? no. eh?" until suddenly the sky opened up and i was like "ohhhhhhh this is it this is the one this is PERFECT"

I reread OHTMB series (mainly ANMANL and prison break and Nightmare fic) The bromance of Loki and Peter is so great to see. Kraglin and Nebula are a great duo. Neb being a softie to Mantis, you ain't subtle Nebula.

But look at Loki having a family, he deserves it. He can't escape now, the gotg would hunt him down lovingly.

But back to Peter and Loki bromance.... yeah.... it's so good. It's also funny to think about before ANMANL Loki's having his own unsolved buzzfeed to whether Peter knows he's not entirely human. Part of me want Rocket to add fuel to the fire like "Oh yeah, the dude held that purple rock with his bare hands" "I'm pretty sure he can control scaly things" "he created Pac-Eater"

okay real quick, i was so exhausted after lab today that i originally read that first sentence as "i read the OHTMB series while in prison" and i had to. take a moment hskdjdhdjk

anyway, thank you!!! you are absolutely correct, loki cannot escape at this point, they would quite literally track him down and drag his ass back if he tried - mostly because, like, he doesn't want to leave, and they know that, so if he did up and skedaddle they'd know Something Is Up and they gotta help fix it

and i've said it before, but i really can't say enough exactly HOW accidental the bromance was. the version of peter quill that exists in my head knew loki for 10 minutes and was like "i guess we're adopting a norse god now" and i'm thinking "you don't. have to?" and he was like "no other choice"

ohhh and nebula and kraglin! that was irresistible after that interaction gotg2 ("i was thinking like.... a nice hat, a pretty necklace......") and like. i love this version of nebula that doesn't know how to make friends conventionally, so she probably uses (1) proximity and (2) a lack of actively wanting the person dead as the ultimate qualifiers for friendship. you ask kraglin and he's like "yeah idk where i'm at with nebula, she threatens to kill me every other day" and meanwhile nebula would list kraglin as her closest friend after gamora lmao

I have a question that I've been thinking about since I read ANMANL. -_- At what point... Has it dawned on Loki that the Frigga he refused to talk to/magic blasted away, was really a real Frigga from a parallel universe (unless I misunderstood?). OR is Loki just refusing to think about it?

you understood perfectly, that is a frigga from another parallel universe! on some level loki does realize this after quill drops the "we're getting shotputted around alternate universes" thing, but i mean, there was already so much else going on that he didn't really stop to think about it? i imagine sometime after the events of the story it does occur to him, like, hey, that was actually your mother and not a trick, but the thing is: his major hang up regarding frigga (imo) is the fact that he was at least partially responsible for her death right after rejecting her as his mother, and this frigga was plucked from a timeline where she was presumably still alive, and so that hadn't happened to her yet, and maybe it never would in her universe. so in his head it's like, yeah, sure she seemed genuine and like she really did want to see me, but that's not the same person, of course she wouldn't hate me, none of the really bad shit i've done has happened yet

and...... now that i say that, he and quill are majorly overdue for a conversation about how they both have, like, eerily similar traumas wrt their mothers. preferably with gamora around because, you know, same. also preferably with some alcohol involved. also also preferably with drax overhearing some of it and being genuinely confused as to why any of them would think their mother would hate them? that... doesn't make sense. it's impossible. he doesn't get it. and everyone's instinct is to be like "yeah sure whatever, that's just drax talking" until they remember he's the only actual parent on this ship and-- oh. ohhhh okay and now quill's getting sniffly maybe we need to put the drinks away
