i literally cant choose a single book ok but my favourite book series is probably harry potter because it’s the one that got me into reading

also la mécanique du cœur is an amazing book as well definitely one of my favourites i’ve ever read

5. If you could travel back in time, who would you like to meet?

oh man soooooo many people, but maybe go to ancient greeks and meet the ancient philosophers? that would be pretty cool. also composers like mozart or tchaikovsky.

by this point i’m 100% sure i read more fanfiction than i read actual books

6 // how did writing change you?

Oh boy…quite a lot, I think. I’ve been seriously writing since 2012 (not fic, my books) and I think it’s really helped me to…shape my world view? With all the research I’ve done for writing in general, as well as sorting through my own personal feelings via the characters/situations I’m writing has really helped me, I think. Plus, writing is what I’m the most passionate about now, so when I get the chance to do it, odds are my mood is up and I’m the happiest I can be ^^

13 // hardest character to write?

Jinki. I haven’t written much of him, for this reason lol I have a hard time getting into his head to write so it’s just not worth the effort for me, you know?

14 // easiest character to write?

Kibum and Minho, if that wasn’t already blatantly obvious. They’re the ones I relate to the most out of SHINee, plus their dynamic reminds me of me and my bff (we too Megan’s SHINee personality quiz and I got Min and she got Kib so like…yeah, we’re awesome), so it’s almost effortless to write either of them.

24 // favorite scene you have written?

Well, shit…so far….

They were the best of friends, back in the day, before Minho moved to the country with his father when he and his mother split up. Minho had been back in the palace for a little under a month now, but he and the prince had yet to exchange words until, well, now.

“So? Is it safe to eat?”

Minho licked at a bit of ganache still on his lips and nodded. “Yes, Ki – your Highness.”

The prince’s eyes brightened as he took the fork back from Minho. He cut off a piece for himself, savoring it as he ate it. Minho looked back to the door, checking for movement in the sliver between the doors. The sound of tea being poured drew his attention again, and Minho bowed slightly again. “If that’s all you need, your – ”

“The tea might be poisoned, too.” Minho scoffed before he could hold it back, and the prince smirked. He waited for the prince to pass him the steaming teacup, confused when it did not happen right away. “One does not take tea while standing,” he nodded to the chair beside him, and Minho gulped. “Go on. Sit.”

“Is…is that all right?”

A laugh bubbled out of the prince, and Minho melted a little. “I say it is. Sit.”

This is a short excerpt from the first chapter of Star-Crossed. I really liked the first scene from that (well, i liked both chapters but the second was more of a spur of the moment thing) and it was fun to write the Prince/Guard dynamic.

“Shh, shh!” Kibum hit Minho’s shoulder as the wrapping of the chocolate frog crinkled in his hands. “Do you want her to he – “ Minho slid his hands into the desk as Professor Crowell walked around the desks, her eyebrow quirking as she passed them.

Minho offered her his most innocent smile and pulled his wand out of the desk. “What are we supposed to be doing, again?” he whispered through clenched teeth.

“Turn the bird,” Kibum pointed at the chickadee watching them at the front of their desk, its beady eyes blinking as it cocked its head. “Into a goblet.”

“Huh.” Rustling erupted from the desk again and Kibum glared at Minho. “Don’t worry, I’ll share.”

Kibum clicked his tongue, watching Crowell as she returned to the front of the classroom. “Hurry, at least.”

“Got it!” The rustling stopped and Minho fumbled around in the desk for a second. “Oh…no…”

“Wha – “ Kibum’s question was cut short by the tickling sensation of frog feet hopping too and from his thigh. It landed on the floor and hopped away down the aisle.

“Crap,” they both said, Minho looking up at the professor while Kibum kept his eye on the frog. “What should we do?” Minho whispered as he tugged at Kibum’s sleeve.

“I’ll distract her,” Kibum said after a minute, glancing over at Minho. “It’s over there, behind Analecia.”

This is an excerpt from CH13: Ten Points. It was a super fun scene to write (as well as a fun chapter, since it’s their first detention). Funnily enough, I wrote this for Megan one day while I was still in the planning stages for this fic. I had it saved in screenshots up until I finally wrote this chapter. I have several scenes saved on my phone for later (👀) tbh it was hard to pick a favorite scene because there are so many that I love (there’s this one that I literally wrote today but I can’t talk about because spoilers lol).

hmm…there’s quite a few that I really like, but this one was from my second fic (oneshot) I wrote for SHINee, and I still think it’s funny lol

Minho sat back on his heels, looking up to find that Jonghyun had followed him to the counter. He pulled the open portfolio that Minho had out for consultations toward him.

“Did you do these?” he asked, flipping the page. Minho nodded, feeling around beneath the counter for his chopsticks. “They’re good.”

“Thanks,” he said, grinning at Jonghyun when he glanced over at him. “I could do you.” Jonghyun’s eyes widened and Minho slurped a mouthful of noodles before he processed what he had said. He struggled to swallow as quickly as possible, his face heating with each passing second. “I-I…didn’t…I…what…I meant I could do your tattoos.”

Jonghyun laughed, the corners of his eyes crinkling as he leaned away from the counter. Minho snorted, hiding his face behind the cup of ramyeon. “I know…” Jonghyun said, his voice still breathy from laughing, “I read between the lines.”

Minho kept his eyes on his ramyeon as he stirred it. “Well, that’s a relief.”

It’s from INSPIRATION, the one Jongho fic I’ve written. Minho is a tattoo artist and Jonghyun runs the flower shop next door. Idk, I just think it was really cute and, if I may say so myself, in character for both of them. I would love to revisit this AU and write more about them and their eventual romantic relationship, but at the moment, I don’t really have any ideas for continuing it :(

not for my fanfic but rather for my novels…J.R.R. TOLKIEN! I love him and his writing has definitely influenced how I read/write fantasy.

idk if this is necessarily a trope, but making subtle fandom references? Not so much that it stands out, but enough that readers are like “ayyyy nice reference, bro” lol

hmmmmmmm…super macho Minho, emotionally unavailable Minho, diva Kibum, spiteful/angry/hateful Minkey…to name a few (can you tell I just read Minkey? lol) off the top of my head. I’m usually very picky when it comes to reading fics, so I rarely come across these, but if I do, I exit out so quick lmao
