MOSS GRAFFITI
Who knew that you can use moss for a graffiti that grows on walls? It’s an amazing idea from English designer Anna Garforth.
Garforth creates typography and massive geometric designs and patterns with this living, green material. The growth and flowering becomes a significant part of the constantly evolving piece. Anna came up with this idea when she was walking on Abney park cemetery. “I was fascinated by the beautiful script and moss that covers the grave stones, one stone had moss growing inside the carved out letters and it looked amazing. I collected moss and started to experiment”.
The moss typo graphics became a great success and gave way to experimenting with many other materials and concepts. We find her work a beautiful way of reflecting the green textured world in urban spaces.
