J-Pop Summit recap! So I was seriously still making stuff the morning before we took off to San Francisco! Haha. Paul and I arrived there in the early evening so we hung out at the park with my sister Amber (Tumblr user Animatormama), her husband DeShion, and their daughter Nova. After picking up food at Trader Joes and cooking it up back at their place we settled in and fell asleep while watching Heathers. Forgot how much I love that movie.
The festival pretty much flew by, to be quite honest. ZambiCandy and I shared a booth this year. I got a chance to duck out from time to time and shop at Daiso and Mai Do (ended up buying an Angora Bunny plushie for my bag.. you know, the ones that look like the alpacas..so cute!) and get my fix of Chairman Bao. Also got some heart-shaped Swimmer buttons at AnnAnni's booth! After the first night we got to meet some of Zambi's friends and we had dinner at Juban for Japanese BBQ, then a cute cafe I forgot the name of.
Next day we set up (and gust-proofed--it was windy) the booth and met even more cool people! Got to see Sporkii as well as Etsy seller NiftyVintageGirl (pictured above in the pink hello kitty shirt)! My sister Jo-Anne also came from San Jose to see me and check out the festival!
After the festival was over we headed back to Amber and DeShion's to say our goodbyes. I had my Swimmer buttons on my vest, and used them to teach my niece how to say "shiny heart." Aww.
Oh, and the gas station worker on the way home saw my business card on Paul's jacket and I ended up giving him a small stack of them, haha.
EDIT: Amber also shared this nugget of joy with us.
