3, 9 and 25

Note: I’m putting 3 below the cut for trigger warning reasons (see above the cut for warnings)

9 – Someone you miss more than you admit. More than I admit? Probably Jonathan. Which immediately will make everyone think I have a crush on him, but I think I mostly miss the versions of us we were back in elementary school. I know things were hard for him back then, but we were inseparable. And then you grow up and you don’t recognize each other. Maybe I just miss the peace we had back then, or the one I thought we had.

25 – What happens if you snap? There are two kinds of “snapping”. The first is what other people think it is when I snap. First I raise my voice and then I storm off. But that’s really just to save them from what happens when I really snap. Depending on what caused it, my reaction would probably vary greatly, but overall it would be something without any regard for my own safety, risky, probably violent. I’m not proud of that, which is why I try to remove myself from those situations, but if it were e.g. one of those flappy faced monsters coming after someone I care about… It wouldn’t be just fear or survival. It would be rage. And then I’d probably try to beat that thing to death with my bare hands, no matter the consequences for me. Maybe I should rethink that “strategy”…

3 – A memory you wish you could erase. I feel sick just thinking about it. The moment Steve, Nancy and Robin dragged Eddie out of the Upside Down. I just… there was blood and the air smelled like iron, and nothing looked right. Just torn. And I didn’t even really realize that Eddie had died or was dying or whatever was going on, all I could think about was in how much pain he had to be in. It was so, so much worse than that accident I had when I was like… 13, and my whole arm was cut open, but with Eddie it wasn’t just one cut. I still have nightmares about that night with Eddie, about how I couldn’t even move at first, about how I felt my whole world was just collapsing when I should have tried helping. I mean, I did but I couldn’t move for a second and I just- I don’t know. I still feel the blood on my hands and how he moved under my hands and- I think I need a moment.

1, 18

1 – What’s your biggest secret? Oh, I hate this question, because, even if I wrote it down, it wouldn’t be a secret anymore. But I know, I know, that’s the idea. Well, truth be told, there’s someone who I’ve really liked for a while. A long while. Really liked. He’s always kind to me, listens to me and joins in when I talk about my favourite fantasy books, lets me take as many pictures of him playing guitar on stage as I want, and knows what it’s like to never really fit in anywhere. I think, I knew I’d like him from the moment he handed me back my copy of the Silmarillion after I had lost it, just because he knew I’d be the only possible person at the school to read that. But honestly, I don't know if he even sees me as a real friend sometimes. Not to mention as more than that. So yeah. Deep dive into big secrets. Another, not so big secret is that I don’t like peanuts (not as snacks or as sauce anyway).

18 – Go-to comfort movie? Mike recently asked a similar question. I told him Ralph Bakshi‘s "Lord of the Rings" from 1978 or “The Goonies”, but the question was what movie I’d choose, if I could only watch that for the rest of my life. I ended up deciding on Lord of the Rings, but as far as comfort goes, the Goonies win this one. I just love how they’re all sticking together and come one: who didn’t dream of fining a pirate treasure when they were kids?

4, 13, 22

4 – Who did you trust the most—and do you still? Overall speaking: my dog Sammy. He’s a little bastard, but loyal where it counts. As for humans… I don’t really trust anyone. I think there was a time where it would have Jonathan Byers. I still trust him, even if we’re not close anymore, but right now I’d probably say Eddie. He never makes me feel like I’m too much, or not enough. And he doesn’t make me feel weird for liking fantastical fictional worlds and dreaming of exploring the stars one way or another.

13 – If it called your name—would you answer? That would depend on whether I’d realise “it” is dangerous. If I’m sitting in my room at 6pm and suddenly a voice called me, I’d probably go like “Yes?” because I would think it’s dinner time. But at 1am? Or when I’m walking Sammy in the forest? I’d probably try to hide or run in the opposite direction of where the sound came from. Even if it ends up just being Hopper.

22 – Who would you kill for? Okay, I’ll say this upfront: I’ve never killed anyone, but I’m pretty sure that if someone tried harming the people I love and care about, I would not hesitate to defend them. Not kill the other person, but if they try to kill, then I will respond accordingly. So I think the people I’d defend the most are my siblings (don’t think they’d really care though) and as for friends… again probably Eddie.
