🧡🙏🏽🥔🥕🍚🥕🥔🙏🏽🧡Please support @refugee_community_kitchen who cooks 2800 meals per day for those poor refugees who sleep in the muddy wet woods!!! And it is delicious !! Ann Mitchell ambassador for @sidebysiderefugees shared the meal and here is her report: 🧡🙏🏽☮️🙏🏽🧡 I have been to Hell and back How could we, as human beings, do this to young people? I saw boys and young men living in the most appalling conditions - sleeping on rubbish dumps, the stench was overwhelming, the cold biting, my guess is they would be dying or dead if it weren't for the Refugee action groups and volunteers. It seems that the cruelty we inflict on the young knows no bounds. Boys and some girls who dream of an education, work, family, a life here in the U.K. And they are treated with cruelty, contempt, abuse. I saw the field where the refugees pitch their tents only to be hounded out every three days. The field where the police used rubber bullets and blinded a fifteen year old in one eye. 15. I saw volunteers, young and a few older carry out their humanitarian tasks with grace and efficiency and simple human kindness. I saw boys receive what was given with a smile, a thanks and gratitude and I saw a few - three in fact out of hundreds- receive what was on offer with resentment. They are boys and teenage boys will be like that the world over.I saw Pylons, netting to keep the boys from getting on trains to the U.K that reminded me of those American prison documentaries. I saw boys perched on mounds of concrete like crows looking for the truck that might take them to a better life. I will never forget what I saw yesterday. Never. I thank Katrina Kieffer Wells and LIz Morgan founders of Side by Side Humanitarian Aid for Minors for inviting me as one of their Patrons and Natasha Horn and Tanita Tikaram, Ambassadors for their grace and kindness. I guess that's what I wanted to say. Mainly, I saw a Hell on Earth for children.
