I heckin’ LOVE OCs. So much. I really shamelessly enjoy experimenting with dynamics and interactions that will never be seen in canon, but aren’t too far off as possibilities for the muse. I always push my muses outside of what feels like their comfort zone to see what facets end up surfacing and expressing. What better avenue for this process than original characters?? Ya’ll workin big magic in your creative space and I am living for it.
My Top 5 OC x Dabi Ships at the moment:
Dabi x Zoen @acherys ⋙ Two bitchy babies with mean mouths, bleeding hearts, and ugly scars. When Dad’s Pulse is the Problem, I am the Solution. They are professional snarkers pronounced dead at childhood. Ofc they get along. It just looks like... that. Dabi crushed first, but he won’t admit anything until Tiris likes him. There’s nothing more shameful than trying to come off as smooth when her dog hates you.
Dabi x Yuki @glxtzy ⋙ He never imagined meeting someone who seemed less qualified for adulthood than himself. Yuki is such a mess of a person that Dabi feels almost normalized in his company; those old lessons and practices that had no place in his present life, are suddenly tumbling to the forefront of his mind as he tries to ignore that he’s getting really comfortable in someone else’s space. Yuki matches him, dysfunction for deadpan, and maybe, maybe the villain finds him to be some kind of fascinating.
Dabi x Loni @maljefe ⋙ Frenimes, rivals, Loni and Dabi have a pre-established friction that stems from the League wanting to make use of the territories and connections that Loni’s organization hosts. Naturally, Dabi becomes the primary force of negotiation to that end; he can’t easily comprehend the moral limitations of a criminal organization -- to him, a mafia is a mafia, but Loni isn’t budging. Through heated conversation, and heated confrontation, the two have fostered an intense sort of familiarity. Their interactions have recently culminated with the re-appearance of Loni after she went missing for a few months, and with a child in tow. Dabi is still trying to figure out what in the fresh hell just happened.
Dabi x Takehiko @homra-no-artemis ⋙ Takehiko is one of those talented, angry, highly capable prospects that Dabi very much would like to successfully recruit into the League. Takehiko has her own ideas about things, but the two of them don’t have misaligned views on everything. While they manage civil discourse for the most part, neither feral, predatory disposition can seem to help but search out the cracks and fissures within the other’s defenses. Both disillusioned with their reality, both hellbent on having their way, both empowered and threatened by their own flames, Takehiko and Dabi only have dangerous things in common.
Dabi x Ophelia @lightpersists ⋙ An enigmatic fellow called Atlas sought Dabi out to finalize a contract order for the recovery && or disposal of a girl named “Ophelia.” He didn’t know, didn’t care about the details between them, but it looks as though Ophelia herself becomes the liability in the plan. Her quirk is useful, and she isn’t unwilling to understand Dabi’s ambitions. The line between ally and target will begin to blur, and he’ll feed into his own inner confusion by enlivening Ophelia’s view of the world around her. Atlas has promised considerable support to the League’s resources, after Dabi turns the girl over. But Dabi will have to evaluate very carefully, whether that return is worth the Ophelia’s potential within the League.
