Another take from me! One of my favourite things about Chance’s outdated lore (Snake Eyes, if you will) is that it never makes them out to be someone stupid for all that’d gone on with iTrapped. None of it is their fault. When the evident danger of the Russian Roulette deal is brought up in the document itself, it’s moreso put in a ‘could you blame him?’ sense.
Chance is someone who has lacked genuine company for quite some time, and he considers iTrapped the world providing them that for once (to paraphrase the official statement). Chance is someone who has always been invested in adrenaline-seeking, and sure, things grew less dangerous overtime, but that aspect of him is still present. Yes, they would say yes to someone in iTrapped’s position proposing a game of Russian Roulette, no, that does not make them stupid, and no, that does not lack sense when you consider who they are and the very foundation for these twos’ relationship.
Hence, it just.. makes me really sad when I see the fanbase consider them a fool for all this? I dunno, leaves a bad taste in my mouth every time I hear about Chance lacking survival instincts, or being too stupid to get how terrible their company is (they’ve had awful company by them for practically their entire life, what do you expect?), or being ‘blind’ (sometimes ‘blinded by [most often romantic love]’), or being too into thrill to get anything, or whatever else along those lines :(

trust me, i am one of THE biggest haters of how fanon makes chance more stupid than he is. Can he be naive? Yeah, for sure. But they aren't a child. My interpretation is that they saw that iTrapped was a walking red flag, but ignored it because of how much he craved friendship.
