hi! i was thinking if you knew a mod that stops sims from autonomously using boats to cross rivers when you have island paradise installed? not only the boats spawning in sims' inventories cause lag but my sims always get stuck in them and then just sit there for hours and the only way to fix it is resetting them.

The only way that I know of is to disable boat routing entirely with Nraas GoHere Mod - https://www.nraas.net/community/GoHere-Interactions

To stop sims from purchasing them I use Nraas Story Progression and create a Caste that disables certain vehicles from being chosen. I don't think it has to be in a Caste but in Story Progression > General Options - Options: Money > Options: Purchasing > Disallowed Cars = (Default:0) And from there - select the the one you don't want them to purchase.

tip - I always use @simsarahsarah's Nraas Settings as reference https://simsarahsarah.tumblr.com/nraassettings when I'm making edits or a new save to control everything I want. It can be really useful for getting rid of annoying sim things. ;)

I’m pretty sure Jam City’s tailored the side quest to fit the year you’re in. So year 6 players deal with new Ben’s attitude while everyone else who isn’t in year 6 yet get old Ben. I’ve seen play throughs where he acts like his old self so it’s definitely been adapted for people in 6th year.

Yeah, many left that comment on my post. Not sure I like that. Like the Halloween quest from Year 1, people pretty much acted like their Year 1 self. Chiara’s quest is a clear sequel to that quest, so for Year 6 players, the chronology feels weird, like we haven’t spoken to Chiara since the Year 1 event. I’d rather they do one version. (I prefer old Ben anyway, so a side quest with old Ben would be fine with me.) I think if they wanted to make the quest “timeless”, they should have used another character than Ben, like Rowan. Jam City was probably trying something out, and I’m sure some will like it, but I don’t. I’m used to side quest taking place in different years than the one I’m currently playing, and it’s usually a nice blast from the past. Anyway, it’s my opinion.

Hi! Do you know a mod that disables autonomous mourning? I have a residential lot with graves on it and my sims are constantly dropping whatever they were doing and going to the yard to mourn and it's driving me insane.

Not that I am aware of. Looked at the GameplayData file and there's an ITUN for mourning sim interaction and urnstone. I exported those and put them in a package file for you.

It's advertised at a 50 value which explains why it happens so frequently. If you want it to stop completely then change it to 0. If you still want it to happen, but not as much, then lower the value maybe to 20 or lower. You'll probably have to do some testing, but that is how I would change it.

How to change it in s3pe:

Open the file in s3pe

Edit the ITUN:

Right-click the ITUN within the new package and select Notepad (or a similar text editor).

In the text editor, locate and modify the specific values or parameters for the interaction you are changing.

After making your changes, save the text file and close the editor.

When S3PE prompts you to commit the changes, select Yes or OK.

Save and put the file in your packages or Override folder.

Alternatively, it can probably be done with Nraas Retuner. I'm not really good at that. But digging through that with the above ITUN could be a clue as to how to find it and change it from there without needing the file.

With that said, I do make mistakes and probably have missed something...so...let me know and I'll try and add it when I can.

There's also Onedrive for the old old cc post. That should still work, but for the most part, Mega has all those files.

I do appreciate that very much because I think I'm absolute trash at making sims. Seriously, I just use 1000 sliders and stack makeup on all my sims till they look decent. (go get @simtanico's slider spreadsheet on sliders, anything @sourlemonsimblr's makes, and a good skin default)

With that said, I don't feel comfortable sharing sims. All the cc figuring out is overwhelming and annoying. So I don't do it. It's one of the reasons I don't share houses anymore. Sorry. :(

Heyy do you know if someone has successfully made the Generations treehouse work with seasonal changes? It kind of bothers me how there's winter in my game and everything is covered in snow except my treehouse

Hi! Not that I know of. I didn't know it did that, but it doesn't surprise me. It's most likely controlled by the objects script, but when I feel better I'll see if it's a simple flag that can be changed.

I'm wondering though now, if the object could be broken down in parts. Like the tree made separate from the house part that works with the script. That way the tree is an object that would get covered in snow outside. But the other house part can be interacted with. idk...it has possibilities to be tinkered with. But if Sandy hasn't altered or made one, then it makes me think it would be annoying to edit. ok...I think this cold is making my brain melt. lol.
