Cheers to you, Uncle Mike
Rollin' Strong as a truck With slick braids and eagle ink That Uncle of mine
Rumblin' and rich His voice like a humid 'bama night Cigarette smoke and coffee steam A double wide with a fancy patio Built for his wheels
Memories of days by the pool Crawfish and ice cream Sweet tea, biscuits and grits A sad heart, overflowing
With suffering, and that man Nothing could hold him back! Strong as an ox Fast as he could be, Speeding tickets became notepads
Tall, in my eyes a huge man Filled with pride and strength Doin' his best While fightin' ghosts
Filling his home with greenery And memories of the dinner table Grandma's plates and grandpa's blessing And family
If I ever needed a place To find my heart again Or silence, and comfort
In that home tucked away Once burned and rebuilt By elk herds and salt taffy Or on an ole Aunt hill
Down a winding dirt road Red or graveled That's where he lived Rollin'
