Okay, so I did something I haven't done before and might not do again and redesigned an Aspec flag, I'll get into why in a moment.
The Original Flag(s)
Ansexual and Anromantic respectively
Someone who lacks attraction and interest in sex or romance in any form and are repulsed by the concepts, regardless of whether or not it is related to them. This repulsion is typically strong enough to described as hatred.
Note: This hatred is directed towards the concepts of sex and romance, not the individuals themselves who partake in them, and it is very different from sex negativity.
The Redesigns
Version 1
Version 2
Ansexual, Anrose/Anaroace (added), and Anromantic (unchanged) respectively
Now I'm going to explain why I made these redesigns to begin with, as well as the reasonings behind each design, under the cut.
If you have any question, please read through in case it's already been answered before asking.
Why redesign the flags?
Simply enough, I found it strange that the Anromantic flag reflected the Aro flag while the Ansexual flag didn't. I also designed an Anrose/Anaroace flag, as I couldn't find one.
Why are there two versions?
In all honesty, I'm about as decisive as a toddler, so I just figured I'd post both and see which one people like better.
What is the meaning behind the designs?
Version 1 was made with the Original Ansexual flag in mind, I wanted to keep some of it if possible.
Version 2 was made based off of the Original Anromantic flag, I felt it felt a little more connected to the Aro community through the colors than the Ansexual one did to the Ace.
What is the meaning behind the colors?
I couldn't find any meaning by the original creators, so I interpreted the purple, blue, and green to be representive of community and varied experiences, and the reds as dislike and repulsion. The black feels representative of the hatred for the concepts.
I didn't create the original flags, so of course that's only my interpretation, and then one I made the redesigns with in mind.
In the case of Version 2, it's very similar, only the repulsion and dislike is also covered under the black stripe.
Your Version 2 Anromantic flag isn't a redesign
I'm aware, and that's because Version 2 was based off of the Original Anromantic flag rather than made with it in mind. I personally find it connects better with the Aro community than the Ansexual one does with the Ace one.
I like the originals more
That's perfectly alright! Use whichever looks or feels best to you! I only made these to throw more options on the table!
[Post to be updated should I come across any other questions]
An absence of interest in any form of s3xual attraction, pleasure, or engagement, whether one engages in it themselves or observes others doing it, is known as ansexuality. It can also be used to express hatred for the idea or practice of having s3xual feelings. This does not indicate that the person despises others or themselves; rather, it just means that the person abhors the idea of s3xual attraction in general and dislikes or even despises the way s3x and/or genitalia are presented.
breeders get SO mad when you say you dont wanna know about how theyve been "trying for months" (getting creampied) but will throw a hissy fit at the slightest mention of a gay couple
and then they criticise us for not wanting to hear about their sex life?? like umm-
Some flags I made! These focus on the Ance-spectrum, Ance being the abbreviation for Ansexuality. The prefix An- stems from the Greek ἀν- meaning "not", which is "used to make words that have a sense opposite to the word (or stem) to which the prefix is attached." [Source]
The first two terms have been coined already, and flags have been designed for them, too. However, I took a different approach to their color coding, giving the flags the defining color of their A-spectrum counterparts (e.g. the Asexual flag has a deep purple as their defining color, so I gave their Ansexual counterpart a color scheme based on that color). The green Anromantic flag has already been proposed.
Flag 1: Ansexual - "Ansexuality is a lack of interest in all kinds of sexual pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. It can also be used to describe feelings of hate towards the concept or experience of sexual feelings." [Source]
Flag 2: Anromantic - "Anromance is a lack of interest in all kinds of romantic pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. This romantic orientation can also be used to describe hate towards romantic feelings of anybody." [Source]
Flag 3: "An-alterous" - "An-alterous, Ance-alterous, or Ancenonalterous, describes an individual, who lacks interest in all kinds of alterous pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. It can also be used to describe feelings of hate towards emotional relationships and connections." [No source, text based on the former descriptions.]
Flag 4: Ansensual - "Ansensual describes an individual, who lacks interest in all kinds of sensual pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. It can also be used to describe feelings of hate towards non-sexual physical touch in the context of a relationship, like cuddling, kissing, or massaging." [No source, text based on the former descriptions.]
Flag 5: Anplatonic - "Anplatonic describes an individual, who lacks interest in all kinds of platonic pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. It can also be used to describe hate towards the concept of friendship or platonic love." [No source, text based on the former descriptions.]
Flag 6: Anqueerplatonic - "Anqueerplatonic describes an invidual, who lacks interest in all kinds of queerplatonic pleasure, interaction, or attraction, whether it be engaging in it or hearing about other individuals engaging in it. It can also be used to describe feelings of hate towards queerplatonic relationships." [No source, text based on the former descriptions.]
This should go without a saying, but these terms do not mean that said individual hates other people and their relationships, but rather the idea of those relationships they're in. This may be due to bad experiences in these type of relationships or simply due to having no desire to sustain such relationships.
EXTRA
A little fun thing to visualize my thoughts about the choice of color on the original Anromantic and Ansexual flags.
An asexual with no interest of sex, sexual relationships, or sexual attraction. Can be used to describe a dislike or hate towards anything sexual/sex related.
