     What else was there to say? age nor overblot could change that crucial fact that at the end of the day azul was azul. he was someone who effortlessly kept his attention when others have failed to do so. he was someone whos relationship wasn’t completely transactional compared to those his parents kept company with. friends were people floyd could make and throw away just as easily as his moods shifted, but that particular octopus merman was someone he could never let slip from his grasp. it’s not love, that emotion too difficult for the capricious eel to understand. it was more like... someone who had always been there. it felt right to be by his side. and by his side floyd would remain.
