Billy posses many of these but one in particular perplexes him; because he had no recollection of where it came from. It is faded now and hardly noticeable unless you know to look for it. A jagged little line across his right ankle.

Do to what happened to him at the hands of the English Navy, Billy is not comfortable about hot steel(black smith shops give him the shivers). And while he does not out rightly fear fire he does still flinch at its heat more so than is normal.

32. Untolerated: Your muse punishes my muse for insubordination

He hadn’t run, hadn’t hid, hadn’t bothered to do anything. But sit there at that bar, downing shots like it was going out of style. And it kind of was for him. Disobeying a direct order, was as good as signing your death warrant, in this life. He didn’t regret it though. She got away. The Persian wouldn’t find her….ever. She could live her life, the quiet little life she wanted. Away from all the dingy air, and smoking guns. And it would have gone perfectly, but the Persian had eyes and ears all over this city. His disobedience had been almost instantly known. That he had spared the life he should have ended, and helped her get away.

The liquor might have helped lessen the pain of the blows when they started. Bats, pipes, fists, feet, he was pretty sure someone had even used a brick at one point. He didn’t fight back, there wasn’t a point. He knew where she’d gone. He knew exactly where she’d escaped to. But he wasn’t about to tell the crime lord these goons worked for. He wasn’t about to rat on her. A “wise guy” he might be, but he had his own set of morals. His own set of rules about what was right and wrong.

“Where is she!?”

A bloodied sort of grin spread across his broken face. Every bone screamed, and abused muscles ached; as he was hauled up. Head yanked back to look at the boss properly; not that he can see much with the swelling already taking over his face.

“Fuck you.” he breathed, spitting a mouth full of blood and teeth at the Persian.
