The Autobot stretched her bipedal form, having been stuck in her vehicle mode for sometime. She nearly strained her back just a bit, not that it was going to put her in an immobile state.

However, her internal system alerted her to a presence, one that wasn’t human. She become high alert as her servos quickly shifted into her blasters and pointed down at who had tried to ambush her.

What she was greeted with was something… peculiar.

A human? No, her sensor stated otherwise? A Pretender? If this one was, she couldn’t see which side the belonged.

She remained silent while aiming her blasters at the human-look alike while trying to think of a way to slip away.

The noise from the machines around had lessened through the days as now it was just the device that read his vital signs. They were back to stable parameters, much different from when he had first come here. He sat alone on the hospital bed as he stared up at the television set. The news was one, playing the updates of the week but he didn’t care much for it right now.

Who knew a person’s life could change perspective in a matter of a week?

Just five days ago, he was just about to finish college and spend a good long summer with his family. Now, he sat alone as he stared down at his bandaged hands. He tried to hunch a bit more to look more down at his arms but he flinched in pain. His back was still hurting and he knew if he tried any harder, the stitches would break.

“…what’s the use?” he muttered as he tried to lie back on the seated position the bed was at while staring at the empty chair.

It was a spot where people he knew would be seated, waiting for his full recovery but those who mattered the most… the ones who should be here now were gone… killed before his very eyes and he alone survived.

Why? …why was he able to live and not them?

When really nervous, he tends to snap his fingers in a rhythm. He rarely does it as he always keeps his hands busy with something but when nothing is there, he does it and it has an annoying repetition that he isn’t aware of.
