Today was... not a day that Antares appreciated.
It isn’t exactly the holiday’s fault. And it’s not the fault of anyone who enjoyed it.
Antares just... didn’t. She usually didn’t enjoy the things that brought all her friends and classmates joy. Joy, and everything like it, was dangerous for her to have.
So she tries to stay away from it all. Her classmates laugh and run around, loud and playful, and she dutifully stays to the side, keeping her emotions at bay. The second class ends, she makes a quick trek to her dorms, deciding to spend the rest of the day hiding away in her studies, just to make sure she isn’t caught in all this... rampant amusement.
She sees it then, as she walks across the lawns of the campus. Something silvery flashes past and she frowns as it catches her eyes, making her turn automatically to try and find it.
She sees nothing. Senses nothing, either, besides the telltale prickle of something or someone watching.
Antares frowns to herself. Her tail twitches restlessly before she decides it’s fine. Just another prank in progress, she guesses.
