analyzing higuruma hiromi's birth chart !! vol. i (vol. ii here)
hi! i'm here to discuss higuruma's birth chart, but to my surprise, this man doesn't have an official birth date. all we know is that in 2018 he was 36 years old, which suggests he was born in 1982. so, i did some research on reddit, of course, and some people say his birthday should be in december and some vote for january. specifically december 20th or january 9th.
here are the charts without a specified birth time (without asc):
for the sake of this analysis, i will use the chart from january 9th, not only because it fits with what i had in mind (to my surprise) but because:
i don't think he has the sun in sagittarius, bc archetypally, sagittarius seeks truth and philosophical justice. and, while higuruma does seek truth, his approach is much more pragmatic and technical (procedural) than expansive or idealistic, as a sagittarius would be. sagittarius is generally more optimistic; higuruma has a much more solemn and grounded air.
i think he has some libra influence, but not like this bc this moon seeks balance and harmony. it would fit with his profession as a lawyer, but the moon in libra usually avoids direct conflict or harsh confrontation; they are quite passive. and higuruma, on the other hand, delves into the darkness of judgment and accepts the ugliness of human nature very directly.
so yeah… higuruma is a capricorn sun with a cancer moon. i took the liberty of assigning a birth time to analyze the houses and the ascendant. this is the full chart:
1st house:
asc in libra: the ascendant (AC) represents our persona and how we navigate the world. with a libra rising, higuruma is the personification of the scales, which makes sense given how much scales imagery we see in his appearances.
he presents himself as composed, articulate, and civil. even in a death match, he wears a suit. he values the decorum of the law.
because libra is ruled by venus, higuruma possesses a natural grace. this explains his "non-sorcerer" vibe, the tailored suit, the calm cadence of his voice, and his preference for a courtroom setting over a battlefield. he represents the civilized man forced into a savage world. even his weapon, a gavel that transforms, is a tool of order, not a blade of chaos if you know what i mean
we all know that the symbol of libra is the scales, the only inanimate object in the zodiac, and this is crucial for higuruma's character. he tries so hard to be like the scales: cold, metal and objective. he wants to be a tool of the law. but he fails…
since his chart ruler (venus) is in aquarius, he is a rebel with a cause. he doesn't just follow the law; he interrogates it, he challenges it. he is a lonely figure because he stands at the intersection of a system that failed (capricorn/saturn) and a future that doesn't exist yet (aquarius/uranus). this is where higuruma's character transcends being "just a lawyer" and becomes a tragic, visionary figure. in astrology, the transition from capricorn to aquarius represents the shift from the old guard (tradition, status quo, rigid laws) to the new age (revolution, collective truth, radical change).
mars in libra: this is a position where energy, action, and assertiveness (mars) are tempered by diplomacy, balance, and a search for harmony (libra). people with this configuration are negotiators, peaceful, and prefer justice over force. for higuruma, his martian spirit is filtered through the lens of equity.
higuruma doesn't use a cursed tool designed for slaughter; he uses a gavel. this is the ultimate mars in libra symbol. it's a tool of authority used to enforce a verdict. he doesn't strike to wound; he strikes to correct. and his entire fighting style is a procedural argument, he uses his domain, deadly sentencing, to strip his opponent of their cursed techniques before engaging. this is the libra influence 100%, leveling the playing field so that the judgment is fair.
mars in libra often struggles with direct confrontation unless they have a moral high ground to stand on. hiromi is remarkably passive until the sentence is passed. he sits, he listens, and he judges. but once the verdict is guilty, his mars switches on with a cold efficiency let me explain:
it's not i want to hurt you, it's the law dictates that you must be punished. this detachment makes him one of the most dangerous characters imo because he doesn't have the "ego" or "bloodlust" that usually leads to mistakes yk
having mars in the 1st house means his physical body is a weapon (in astrology, the 1st house represents the physical body, the self, and the vital energy. it is the "container" of the soul. when a planet is placed there, its energy isn't just something you do, it is something you are, so to speak). but because it's in libra, he carries himself with a "heavy" elegance. i.e:
his gavel isn't just an object, it grows and shrinks as if it were an extension of his own arm
when he gains the executioner's sword, it is a literal weaponization of his presence. he doesn't just hold the sword, his entire being radiates the intent to "terminate" the guilty
people with mars in the 1st house often have a "sharp" or intimidating physical presence. even if they are sitting still, they look like they are ready to spring into action lol let's think of how higuruma stands: rigid, poised and alert. also mars here gives a piercing look.
there is a simmering anger in higuruma (the anger he felt when he saw the system fail), but mars in libra prevents him from being a berserker, in a sense. instead, he funnels that rage into intellectual violence. he will destroy your life, your technique, and your soul, all while maintaining a perfect poker face i love him so much
saturn in libra: this is where i want to delve deeper. saturn in libra represents the ideal of the law. it's about structure and equilibrium.
higuruma doesn't just want kindness, he wants fairness. saturn here gives him an incredibly high bar for what constitutes a "just" society.
because saturn is in his 1st house (identity), his boundaries are turned inward: he carries the "gravity" of the legal system in his bones and he doesn't just represent the law; he feels like he is the law, and therefore, he is responsible for its failures.
saturn here acts like a 24/7 internal judge. before judgeman ever appears in his domain, higuruma has already put himself on trial. he is obsessed with his own mistakes, like failing to save a client or the "impurity" of his own soul after killing.
physical rigidity: saturn also rules the bones and the structure. this is why higuruma has such a stiff, formal posture. he is literally holding himself together under the pressure of his own ethics.
here we have a very important aspect: saturn square sun. in astrology, a square aspect creates friction, tension and a constant need for action. when saturn (the taskmaster) squares the sun (the core identity), it creates a life defined by a struggle against a great weight. in higuruma's case, with the sun in capricorn and saturn in libra, this is a double-saturnian tension, since saturn rules capricorn. it's like the ultimate depressive realist aspect lmao
the sun is who you are; saturn is what you must do. when they square each other, the person often feels that their very existence is tied to their productivity or their moral record.
higuruma likely grew up feeling he had to earn his place through excellence. this square creates an "internal prosecutor" that never sleeps. no matter how many cases he wins, saturn whispers that it isn't enough because the system is still broken.
father/authority figures: fun fact! often, this aspect points to a complicated relationship with authority lol for higuruma, the law is the "father figure" that failed him. he dedicated his life to it (sun in capricorn), only to have it crush his spirit (saturn square).
in this chart, saturn is in the 1st house (the self/the body) and the sun is in the 4th house (the private soul/roots/family). this square (sun-saturn) means his "private peace" (4th house) is constantly interrupted by his "sense of duty" (1st house). he can't just go home and relax. his work (saturn) follows him into his most private spaces.
also that iconic and incredibly sexy scene of him in the bathtub in a suit? that is sun square saturn for you, bc it's the visual representation of a man who cannot strip off his responsibilities even when he's trying to be off the clock. he is literally submerged in his own heavy sun/saturn tension. my poor man, i wanna hug him :(
sun square saturn people often feel like life is a series of obstacles. however, it also grants immense endurance, of course. higuruma didn't become a sorcerer because he wanted power; he became one because he reached a saturnian breaking point. the square forced him to evolve. this aspect often requires a great sacrifice: for him, he sacrificed his career, his reputation, and eventually his humanity to find a truth that was higher than the courtroom.
here is another important aspect: saturn conjunction pluto. in astrology, a conjunction fuses two energies together so tightly they become inseparable. when you combine saturn (structure, law, karma) with pluto (death, rebirth, power) in the 1st house, you get a person who is a walking "point of no return", so to speak.
basically, saturn builds walls and pluto blows them up. when they are together, it creates a cycle of total destruction followed by rigid reconstruction.
for higuruma, this conjunction represents his transition from a lawyer to a sorcerer. he didn't just "change jobs", he burned his old life to the ground (pluto) and built a new, lethal identity on the ashes (saturn). we can also say that the executioner's sword is the most literal manifestation of saturn-pluto. it's a tool of absolute law (saturn) that carries instant death (pluto)
since pluto rules the underworld, the secrets and the filth humanity hides and saturn rules responsibility:
seeing the rot: higuruma can't look at a person or a system without seeing the decay underneath. while others can ignore a corrupt judge or a guilty client, he can't. higuruma's saturn-pluto conjunction forces him to look directly into the abyss.
this is why his domain expansion doesn't just judge crimes, it judges truth, it judges everything. pluto gives him the power to strip away the "mask" (libra rising) to see the "sin" (pluto), while saturn provides the "sentence".
having this conjunction in the 1st house (the physical body/identity) makes hiromi an incredibly intimidating presence. people with this aspect often feel heavy to be around, like if they have a gravity that commands silence. we see that when higuruma enters the scene, the playful energy of a battle stops, almost as if he brings the reality of consequence.
also this aspect makes him almost impossible to break mentally. he has already faced his own death (the collapse of his ideals). once you've survived the worst version of yourself, there is nothing a curse or a sorcerer can do to scare you yk that's why i agree with people when they compare him to suguru
i'll leave it here for now because i've been rambling for way too long (sorry!). let me know if you want me to keep going with the other aspects of his chart/persona. there's still so much to say about him ( ദ്ദി ˙ᗜ˙ ) kisses!! luz
analyzing higuruma hiromi's birth chart !! vol. ii
hi! i'm back again to analyze higuruma's birth chart! if you missed the first part, you can find it here, but we basically talked about his 1st house, his rising sign and how the stellium in libra (saturn + mars + pluto) affects him.
i will not be analyzing transpersonal planets (neptune, uranus and pluto) because they are unconscious and generational characteristics, UNLESS they are in some important position with a personal planet (sun, moon, mercury, venus and mars) or with a social planet (jupiter and saturn).
that said, here is the chart:
2nd house:
in astrology, the 2nd house rules our personal resources, values and what we deem "worthy". higuruma only has jupiter, the planet of expansion, happiness and abundance, placed here in the sign of scorpio.
jupiter in scorpio: with this position we can say that higuruma's relationship with "value" is anything but superficial. jupiter in scorpio doesn't care about money for the sake of luxury.
for higuruma, wealth is information and truth. scorpio is considered the detective of the zodiac bc it thrives in the shadows. in the 2nd house, this suggests that his greatest resource as a lawyer was his ability to dig deep into the "underworld" of a case. he finds value in the things others are too afraid to look at.
the 2nd house also represents our self-worth. with jupiter in scorpio, higuruma's self-esteem is tied to his moral depth. he feels "rich" only when he is being authentic and uncovering hidden corruption. however, because scorpio is clearly a sign of extremes, when the legal system proved to be fake, he felt a total loss of personal value, leading to his transformation.
also, jupiter expands whatever it touches. in the context of the culling game, this placement explains his rapid growth. he treats his cursed technique not just as a power, but as a technical resource to be mastered with a surgical, scorpionic precision. he "invests" his energy into the trial (his domain) bc that is where he finds the most significant "return", like a definitive verdict
for higuruma, "growth" isn't about becoming more famous or happier in a generic way. scorpio is about truth at any cost.
his psychological expansion happened when he stopped looking for meaning in the cleanness of the courthouse and started finding it in the raw, ugly reality of human sin.
moral development: his "moral development" (jupiter) isn't about following the rules, it's about the integrity of the soul. he found more "purpose" as a sorcerer judging the guilty than he ever did as a lawyer within a corrupt system.
since jupiter governs our belief systems, having it in the 2nd house means his belief system is, by far, his most valuable asset. most people might compromise their beliefs for a promotion or safety, higuruma can't. to him, losing his moral compass (jupiter) would be like going bankrupt.
paradoxically, he grew the most when he lost everything material. when he abandoned his career, his jupiter in scorpio was finally free to expand because he was no longer tied to the "shallow" values of society.
when it's balanced, jupiter supports optimism. in higuruma's chart, this optimism is scorpionic, of course. it's the belief that even if the world is dark, the truth is worth fighting for. it's a grim kind of hope, so to speak, but it's what keeps him going. it's the "generosity" of a man who is willing to give his life to ensure that a trial is truly fair :'D
for higuruma, growth is never easy, and that is exactly how he likes it (sadistic behavior). this placement dictates a life philosophy of no profit without hardship, whether that profit is a legal victory or a spiritual awakening.
he despises "superficial happiness" in others and himself. this explains his chronic pessimism and his refusal to indulge in the "lighthearted" side of being a sorcerer
his most precious feelings are hidden in the dark side of his nature. he is willing to "go through hell" to destroy any part of himself he considers weak in order to find his true core
this placement drives a powerful yearning for depth and mystery, which ultimately helps him find his true self, not as a lawyer, but as an "arbiter" of truth.
as i said, the 2nd house governs self-worth and material resources. with jupiter here, there is a natural optimism regarding his own capabilities and resources.
this placement fosters a hopeful attitude toward his own value. even when the legal system failed, his jupiter ensured that his internal sense of worth grew by seeking a more profound, scorpionic truth (being a sorcerer).
while jupiter brings good fortune in financial or resourceful affairs, it also requires a balance between generosity and prudence. higuruma demonstrates this by being generous with his life and power for the sake of his moral code
basically, his most valuable resource isn't his money, but his ability to descend into hell to find the truth. he values the darkness because he knows that's where the most precious parts of his soul are hidden. he is a man who would trade everything he owns for a single moment of absolute, soul-stripping catharsis (bathtub scene when he talks to yuji)
here we have three important aspects: one harmonious and two of tension.
jupiter trine moon: it is one of the most beautiful and fluid aspects of his chart imo. a trine is a harmonious aspect, occurring at 120 degrees between two planets that share the same element (fire, earth, air or water). it is an aspect that promotes ease, natural talent and fluid communication.
the trine between his moon and jupiter is a source of immense emotional wisdom and luck. this aspect creates a natural flow between his public career (10th house) and his personal values (2nd house).
the moon in cancer in the 10th house makes his career a matter of the heart (i'll delve deeper into the moon later dw). when this moon connects harmoniously with jupiter in scorpio, it gives him an incredible emotional depth. he doesn't just see a client; he sees their soul and their suffering, and he feels a moral duty (jupiter) to do something about it.
jupiter in scorpio thrives on profit through hardship, as i said before, and because it trines his moon, higuruma has the psychological ability to process immense pain without losing his humanity entirely. even when he is at his lowest this aspect provides a "safety net" of inner growth. it's why he was able to recognize the light in yuji: his heart (moon) and his inner guide (jupiter) are perfectly aligned to spot sincerity in the middle of a dark world.
also this aspect bridges the gap between what he values (2nd house) and what he does for a living (10th house). it suggests that for higuruma, a successful career is one where he can be emotionally honest. his good fortune (jupiter) comes from his authenticity. and even though he suffered as a lawyer, this trine is what eventually allowed him to find meaning and purpose (jupiter) in his new life as a sorcerer, transforming his internal resources into a powerful, justice-seeking force.
in part 1, i explained that a square is a tense aspect between two planets. it occurs at 90° and represents internal conflicts, challenges and friction that drive personal growth and action. higuruma's jupiter forms a square with two planets: mercury and venus.
jupiter square mercury: this aspect explains higuruma's intellectual burnout. in this chart, mercury is in aquarius, representing his brilliant, lightning-fast and technical mind. when the planet of communication and logic (mercury) clashes with the planet of expansion and belief (jupiter), it creates a "mental overload" that defines his struggle as a defense attorney.
it is the crisis of the truth, bc this aspect creates a tension between the fact (mercury) and the meaning (jupiter). for higuruma, this manifested as an obsessive need to find the objective truth, only to be crushed by the ugly reality of the system.
higuruma's mind works like a machine. he views the law as a series of logical codes and structures. he is also a prodigy who mastered jujutsu in 12 days because his mercury in aquarius can process complex systems instantly.
his inner guide demands depth and profit through hardship. he isn't satisfied with a simple "not guilty" verdict, and this creates a person who thinks too much and feels too deeply about those thoughts. he becomes a depressive realist because his logic (mercury) constantly proves that the world is dark and corrupt (jupiter).
mercury square jupiter often leads to a missing the forest for the trees kind of situation. he is so technical and pragmatic (aquarius) that he can see every loophole and procedural error.
however, his jupiter in scorpio makes him hate superficial successes. even if he wins a case on a technicality, if the truth is still buried, he feels like he has failed. this internal friction is what eventually led to his emotional collapse in the courtroom.
mercury is how we speak and jupiter is our philosophy. this square here makes his speech solemn and grounded, yet intense.
he doesn't waste words: when he speaks, it is to deliver a verdict or an undeniable logical truth.
there is an "all or nothing" quality to his arguments. he will go through hell to destroy a weak argument (jupiter in scorpio), using his aquarian mercury as a precise tool to dismantle his opponent's logic
his mind is like a high-speed processor (aquarius), but his soul is like a deep-sea diver (scorpio). this tensed aspect means he can't stop his brain from analyzing the rot of humanity. he sees the technical flaws in the law, and his jupiter forces him to feel the moral weight of those flaws. it's a mental cross to bear, being smart enough to see the system is broken and being principled enough to care.
jupiter square venus: venus represents how he loves, what he finds beautiful and his social harmony, while jupiter is his expansive moral drive. when these two planets of "pleasure" and "meaning" square each other, it creates a profound internal conflict between social detachment and emotional intensity.
the venus in aquarius gives higuruma that cool, detached, non-sorcerer vibe. he finds beauty in logic, independence and the concept of "the people" as a whole. he values his autonomy and is a bit of an intellectual rebel.
and jupiter in scorpio is his inner guide, however, it makes him obsessed with intensity, secrets and the "hardship" of the soul.
the square between this two creates a person who wants to stay objective and detached (aquarius) but is constantly pulled into the "darkness" of human drama (scorpio). he wants to be a "civilized man", but his soul demands he be an "executioner"
venus square jupiter often feels like he can't have both peace and truth. his venus in aquarius wants to be part of a fair society, but his jupiter in scorpio proves to him that society is rotten at its core.
this aspect explains why he is a lonely figure. he is too unconventional (aquarius) for the traditional legal world, but too deeply principled (scorpio) to just "let go" and be happy. he refuses the "superficial happiness" of social connections because he feels they aren't "deep" or "honest" enough, so to speak
in astrology, squares to jupiter often lead to too muchness. for higuruma, this isn't about physical excess, but moral excess. he over-extends his sense of responsibility. because venus rules what we find comfortable and jupiter is squaring it from scorpio, he finds comfort in the struggle.
we can see that he is a man who would rather sit in a dark, cold theater alone (aquarius isolation) than participate in a fake, "happy" world that ignores the truth (scorpio depth).
this square is the astrological reason for his self-imposed exile. while his venus seeks a world of logic and cool reason, his jupiter is addicted to the hardship of the human condition. this creates a man who feels too much to be a simple observer, yet feels too different to belong. he is a rebel who doesn't want to lead; he just wants a version of love and justice that isn't a lie, even if that means he has to stand in the shadows alone :(
4th house:
while the ascendant is the persona he shows the world, the sun represents the core self, ego, identity and conscious purpose, acting as the primary driver of vitality and life force. meanwhile, the 4th house is known as of the house of the home and family and represents the roots, emotional foundation, childhood and nurturing
sun in capricorn: capricorn is ruled by saturn (check part 1), and with the sun here, higuruma's very identity is built on integrity, duty and structure.
he is the personification of the workaholic archetype. he doesn't work for praise; he works because he physically can't exist without a sense of purpose. for a capricorn sun, if he isn't doing something useful or just, he feel like he is disappearing.
also capricorn is considered a winter sign. it understands that resources are scarce and life is hard, and this is the source of his depressive realism. he doesn't see the glass as half-empty, he sees the glass as structurally flawed and bound to break
his core identity is shaped by the virtues of saturn: peace, patience and perseverance.
capricorn is the sign that puts maximum effort into their chosen path. for higuruma, that path was the law. he didn't just practice it, he lived it with a "serious and responsible" attitude
even if he maintains a "friendly and articulate" persona (thanks to his libra rising), for me, his essence is pure capricorn. everything he does, every move in a trial, every strategy, EVERYTHING, is based on a foundation of absolute responsibility. he is the personification of the steady climb, even if the mountain he's climbing is crumbling
on the other hand, the 4th house is the lowest point of the chart (the imum coeli or IC). it represents our private life and our inner home
with the sun here, higuruma is a deeply private person (which makes sense, as it explains why we don't know his dob or anything important about his past other than his past as a lawyer). he doesn't need an audience to be honorable. his "trial" is internal. i'm sure that he lives in his own head, constantly reviewing his past and his roots
also this placement explains why we often see him in isolated, quiet spaces (bathtub scene). he needs the "walls" of the 4th house to feel safe enough to process his sun/saturn tension. his home basically isn't a place of comfort; it's a place of contemplation.
in astrology we say that the 4th house is the most private part of the chart. when the sun roots itself here, so to speak, the individual's identity is tied to their emotional foundations and personal history.
higuruma draws strength from the idea of a just society, a "heritage" of law that he feels he must protect. his sense of self isn't found in fame or public status, but in his own internal "home"
as he matures, he becomes a beacon of strength for others (like we see when he eventually helps yuji), but this strength is forged in his private struggles. his warmth isn't sunny or loud; it's the quiet, nurturing presence of someone who has created a sanctuary of truth in a world of lies
the 4th house sun often points to early experiences that shaped his identity. for higuruma, those experiences likely instilled in him the saturnian belief that one must be their own foundation because the world outside cannot be trusted.
my poor man was destined to suffer bc he has four (FOUR!!) positions of tension here:
sun opposition moon: in this specific calculation, with the sun in capricorn (4th house) and the moon in cancer (10th house), higuruma is living a permanent internal tug-of-war.
in astrology, an opposition creates a "see-saw" effect. it is a major hard aspect occurring when two planets are 180° apart, sitting in opposite zodiac signs and it creates intense tension, often manifesting as a projection of energy onto others. for higuruma, this represents the agonizing choice between his logic (sun) and his empathy (moon).
this aspect is the astrological reason why higuruma feels like a walking contradiction. he is a man who uses the cold language of the law to scream for mercy.
with his moon in cancer (10th house), his emotions are on public display. the 10th house is the highest point of the chart. this is why his empathy is his greatest vulnerability; he can't look away from a suffering client. he "mothers" his cases (cancer), feeling a deep, nurturing responsibility for the innocent. but his core identity is rooted in the lowest point (4th house). this is his silent, saturnian foundation. while he is out there trying to save people (moon), his inner self is saying that the world is cold, rigid and bound by rules that don't care about feelings (sun).
this opposition creates a person who often feels like they are being pulled in two directions at once.
for him, it is the lawyer's dilemma. when the system (capricorn sun) failed to protect the people his heart (cancer moon) cared for, the opposition "snapped".
the bathtub scene (again, sorry i'm obsessed) is the visual representation of this aspect. the bathtub is a private, cancerian/4th house space, but he is sitting in it wearing a professional capricorn/10th house suit. he can't, he CAAAAAN'T separate his emotional self from his professional burden
the main lesson of this type of opposition is integration. higuruma spent 36 years of his life trying to be "just a lawyer" (the sun side), but his sorcerer awakening forced him to finally embrace the moon side. he became a judge who uses his heart to measure the weight of a soul.
fun fact! when the sun is in opposition to the moon, it looks like a full moon in the sky! this aspect highlights contrast, especially in close relationships or between personal needs and outer expectations. it encourages growth through balance, helping individuals understand both themselves and others more deeply.
sun square mars: (in the previous part i forgot to include the aspects of mars lol sorry). in astrology, a square between the sun (identity) and mars (action/aggression) creates a person who feels like they are constantly at war, either with the world or with themselves.
in higuruma's chart, with his sun in capricorn (4th house) and mars in libra (1st house), this square provides the "fire" that fuels his quiet, stoic exterior.
the capricorn sun wants order, structure and to maintain a "serious and responsible" facade, it seeks to resolve things through the system. and the libra mars seeks justice and balance, but because it's mars, it wants to fight for it.
however, mars in libra is in detriment, meaning the aggression is often redirected into intellectual or social channels (in astrology, a planet in detriment or exile resides in the sign opposite its sign of rulership where it domiciles, making it feel uncomfortable, under-resourced or "foreign". this placement indicates a challenge in expressing the planet's natural energy, often forcing it to behave in unconventional, excessive, or less effective ways).
so, the square creates a massive amount of tension. higuruma isn't naturally violent, but he has a simmering anger toward the unfairness of the world. the square means his very identity (sun) is constantly being "pushed" by a need to take action (mars).
also this aspect explains why he views a trial as a battlefield, so to speak. he doesn't just present a case; he wants to attack the corruption.
because the square involves the 1st house (the self) and the 4th house (the private roots), his anger is deeply personal. when the system fails, he doesn't just get annoyed, he feels a physical, martian urge to tear the structure down and start over.
having mars in the 1st house (check part 1) makes his "vital energy" very visible, but the square to the sun in the 4th makes that energy heavy and rigid.
he carries himself with stiff, formal posture bc he is literally using his sun's discipline to keep his mars' rage under control. when he finally "snaps" and becomes a sorcerer, the square is fully activated. he stops being a man of words and becomes a man of action, using his gavel as a literal weaponization of his sun's principles
think of this aspect as a representation of his "deadly sentencing": the sun in capricorn provides the law, but the mars square is the "executioner" part of the process. he uses intellectual violence to dismantle his opponent because his mars needs a moral high ground to act. without that high ground, the square would just make him frustrated; with it, it makes him like he is unstoppable and a very powerful sorcerer in my opinion
sun square saturn: since i previously analyzed the sun square saturn in the first part, i'm going to dive even deeper into the technical and psychological nuances of this aspect. i said before and i'll say it again: this is the tightest and most defining tension of his chart.
this aspect is the great wall of higuruma's chart. in astrology, a square between the sun and its own ruler (saturn) creates a person who is their own harshest critic and most relentless jailer.
the capricorn sun says that the identity is tied to duty, legacy and doing things "the right way" and the libra saturn is like a taskmaster placed in the sign of justice. saturn is exalted in libra, meaning it is at its most powerful and demanding here (in astrology, the exaltation is a state of essential dignity where a planet operates at its highest potential, offering optimal, efficient, and purposeful expression. it's considered a second best position after domicile, an exalted planet feels comfortable and honored within a specific sign, functioning with high awareness).
the square here creates a permanent state of moral crisis. higuruma doesn't just want to be a good lawyer; he feels he must embody the perfect ideal of justice. when he fails, or when the system fails, the square makes him feel like his entire identity has collapsed, because it involves the house of identity (1st) and the house of privacy (4th).
because saturn is in his 1st house, his "rigidity" is a physical trait. it's the suit, the stiff posture, the unblinking gaze. we can see that he wears his responsibilities like a second skin
also, because the sun is in the 4th house, this pressure follows him home. he can never turn off the lawyer persona. the square means his private life (4th) is constantly interrupted by the crushing weight of his public principles (1st). we already said that he is a man who can't find rest even in the darkness
sun-saturn squares often feels like life is a series of tests. higuruma spent his whole life trying to win against this square by working harder and being more ethical. but the saturnian breaking point happened when he realized that no amount of personal excellence could fix a broken system. the square snapped, and instead of letting saturn crush his sun, he used that saturnian energy to become a sorcerer. he transformed the weight into power
sun square pluto: i wanna discuss this because, in my opinion, this is the darkest and most transformative aspect in his entire chart. while the square to saturn creates a "heavy" life, the sun (capricorn) square pluto (libra) creates a "destructive" one.
in astrology, a square from pluto to the sun represents an ego-death. it is the aspect of someone who must lose everything they think they are in order to find out who they truly are.
a brief explanation of pluto: this is the planet of transformation, power, death and rebirth, representing profound psychological changes and the dismantling of old structures to make way for new ones. as a slow-moving, generational planet, it influences collective social transformations and taboo subjects. pluto rules scorpio and the eighth house, intensifying everything it touches.
so, this aspect describes the crisis of power that higuruma faces in jjk. it's the difference between being a man who follows the rules and a man who decides to become the law.
i explained that the sun in the 4th house means that his identity is rooted in his private moral foundation. but, pluto in the 1st house means that his presence is intense, magnetic and carries the scent of death or total finality. pluto in the 1st house makes a person look like they have secrets, even if they don't.
the square creates a deep, psychological obsession with power and corruption. higuruma can't look at the world without seeing the "underworld" (pluto) beneath it. he spent his life trying to clean up the rot (sun in capricorn) until the pressure of the square became so great that he chose to destroy his own career rather than be a part of the decay.
sun-pluto squares usually involve a "before" and "after" in a person's life, like a metamorphosis.
the death: when he killed those in the courtroom, that was the ultimate plutonian act. he murdered his sun (his identity as a civil servant) to let his pluto (his raw, transformative power) take over.
the rebirth: pluto in the 1st house means his physical presence changed. he went from a man who uses words to a man who radiates an aura of absolute judgment. he stopped defending and started excising the "cancer" of society.
pluto is generally associated with power struggles with authority. in this case, pluto represents the systemic power and the sun represents individual power. because they are in a square, higuruma is in a perpetual fight against those who abuse power. he is the only one brave (or self-destructive lol) enough to look into the abyss of a corrupt system and say "i will tear this down"
this aspect is why his domain is so terrifying, at least for me. it isn't just about a trial; it's about stripping the opponent's soul bare. pluto gives him the ability to see the sin (the dark secrets), and the square to his sun means he uses his very life-force to bring those secrets into the light for judgment.
i'll leave it here for today… in the next part i'll explain venus, mercury, and the sun. if you're interested, i can also explain lilith, chiron and the lunar nodes, which aren't planets but key astrological points and bodies for understanding the shadow, karma and life purpose (⸝⸝> ᴗ•⸝⸝) they're super interesting in my opinion!
