Heartbeats || Jewel and OPEN

Jewel was dizzy when he woke up, the lights on the ceiling blinding him.  His chest still hurt and he could hear the faint beep of a heart monitor.  Looking down at his arm he saw the IV and realized it was his heartbeat he was hearing.  The last thing he could remember was seeing Tara, then his chest hurting.  The old man had had a heart attack.  It was so hard accepting the fact that he was getting old.

War Boys || Jewel and Jackson

Jewel was wandering around the facility after the Fourth of July.  It was a hard holiday to get through but he was able to survive like he did every year.  As he walked he noticed that he had no idea where he was.  Seeing no one around he decided to keep walking and he’d eventually find someone.

After a couple minutes of searching he found a guard.  Both of them looked worn out and like they hadn’t gotten any sleep.  Knowing where he was now he gave the other a tired smile, “Hello.”

Therapy Session || Jewel and his Patients

Jewel sighed as he sat down on one of the many couches in his office.  He was worn out from playing with Daisy this morning but he knew he needed to tend to his patients.  He asked a nurse to go get the patient that was scheduled for that time and waited as he slowly drank his coffee.  Hearing a knock at the door he smiled as he called, “Come in.”

Oldies are Goodies || Closed || Jewel and Jack

Jewel was in the staff break room sipping on some tea.  He had just finished the sessions he had with his patients and wanted to wind down for awhile.  While drinking his tea he noticed someone else entering the break room.  He was an older man just like himself.  A smile played on his lips as he waved calmly, “Hello.  Didn’t know there was anyone else close to my age here.”

New Day || Jewel and Open

Anthony walked through the facility smiling as he held his briefcase that looked like it was falling apart.  He had gotten it many years ago when he started being a psychiatrist.  Knowing it was falling apart he was thinking of buying a new one for his birthday.  A nice little present for himself.

As he strolled along he stopped to let some people running pass by.  He laughed lightly as he shook his head.  "Young people are such a joy to watch."
