#Repost for @irisvanherpen • • • • • • Paris, France Collaboration creates community ~ For our ‘Hypnosis’ collection, the American artist Anthony Howe collaborated with us to create the ‘Infinity’ dress as well as the extraordinary ‘Omniverse’ sculpture for our runway in Paris, encircling the models in a state of hypnosis. This kinetic portal symbolised our relationship with nature and intertwines with infinite expansion and contraction, expressing a universal life cycle. The ‘Infinity’ dress is engineered from an extremely fine mechanism that is hand-finished with layers of feathers that fly cyclical around their own centre infinitely. The dress took four months of making and was engineered in 3DS Max and rendered with Octane and then FabLight lasercut from stainless steel. Hundreds of wings were welded by hand with an Orion 12 jewellery welder, to then be assembled to four curved axles that are cast into a fiberglass epoxy corset. Fine gears are attached to synchronise their rotation and finally the ‘skeletal’ clockwork mechanism of the dress is embroidered with fine layers of white feathers, to interact with the wind delicately. ∞ Explore the intricate process of the ‘Infinity’ dress with us inside the atelier.
