Recently I've been looking at the work of Yves Klein. In his "Anthropometries" series Kline employed female models as "living paintbrushes" and directed them to create his work. Covered his his international Kline blue (his patented blue paint) Kline would direct his models to make imprints of their bodies on large sheets of paper. He staged the making of "Anthropometries" as elaborate performances for an audience, complete with blue cocktails and a performance of his monotone symphony - a single note played for 20 minutes followed by 20 minutes of silence. Watching this inspired me a lot, it was the only work I seen that really linked well to my work. I want to explore the idea of movement through the use of the body and performance possibly through film. I feel after researching this work I'm more sure about the direction my work is going to take. Although I need to develop and research this idea further if I'm going to choose this direction.
