So I have made it to the part in season three where we find out why Beth doesn’t like Jamie but I must say it doesn’t change my feelings on her. I understand her contempt towards him but like? It still doesn’t warrant the way she poisons John against him. She hadn’t said anything about the hysterectomy in 30 years, if I was John I would’ve been like ok? What’s supposed to be done about it now? The way Beth is so fucking unhealed, she doesn’t need kids. It’s no wonder Lee didn’t want any damn kids. I also don’t like how John seems to also have this obvious loathing for Jamie as well. He never says anything when Beth is badmouthing Jamie or when she’s putting her hands on him. It’s crazy. Worst father of the year award definitely goes to him for sure.

None of this is to say that Jamie is a saint or that he is completely undeserving of some of the attitude towards him but the level of hostility he receives is disproportionate compared to his actions alone.

ALSO “the more you become what he wanted you to become, the more he’ll hate you for it” WHAT DOES THAT MEAN??? To me it sounds like Jamie is just bound to be a disappointment no matter what he does for the family and I hate that implication.

God I am so happy Yellowstone is ending.

I hate how everyone pretends Beth is this perfect little angel under her pettiness, rage and massive red flag behavior while Jamie is the bad guy just basically because he was adopted and isn’t a “real Dutton”.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. It’s like ONLY Wes Bentley cares about maintaining Jamie’s actual characterization and progression. And unfortunately, quite a bit of Jamie’s AND Beth’s character development has been thrown out the window for this annoying spat they’re trapped in. 

Looks like this season may be giving viewers what they want too and have Beth successfully turn Kayce against Jamie finally. How their sibling relationship was should’ve been none of her damn business but she’s petty and a b*tch frankly.

Jamie is only indirectly responsible for what happened to John at best. Sarah is the guilty party but then again, he doesn’t turn her in either sooooo… 🤷‍♀️ “He had John killed to save himself”. By that reasoning, almost every Dutton is considered a coward. Beth and John basically brought this on themselves because Jamie tried several times to get away and ‘quit’ the family but both of them kept dragging him back by any means necessary, Beth mostly because she wanted to “keep control” over him. Petty.

Speaking of, I just know Beth will finally get the better of Jamie at the end and since it’s basically been confirmed that Rip is going to take over the ranch, we will be left with him and Beth metaphorically riding off into the sunset together. 🙄 Ugh. So what then? She’ll gradually adopt more kids that she will then be abusive as hell toward? Okay.

I've just finished the first season of Yellowstone because someone recommended it to me ("it's very entertaining, there are beautiful landscapes and a lot of horses!!" i mean HOW could I say no, there were horses!) and I genuinely can't understand all the fandom hype about Beth. Like, she's clearly a complex character but treating everyone like complete shit just for the hell of it ≠ being powerful inspiring and strong imo

So I’m currently mid season 2 and I must say I don’t like Beth. I really don’t. The way she treats Jamie is insidious. I’m sure we’ll get the backstory there at some point but what could Jamie have possibly done to her to make her loathe him so much holy shit. Or is she just a miserable character all around? I really hope her and Rip don’t end up together bc there is no way Rip deserves someone who is so bitter and spiteful. My god. I understand she’s in constant self hatred because she’s essentially the reason her mother was killed but having such hatred and anger in your heart for the 20 something years after is unheard of. Or does everything just lead back to John being the problem? I hope Yellowstone has something nice in store for Beth to turn her character around bc as of right now I’m firmly anti Beth Dutton.

Beth getting up and storming out of every single meal is so fucking annoying. Making a scene, drawing attention. The performance of it all… It’s exhausting and I’m bored of it. I was bored of it in season, by season 4 it’s just like oh brotherrrr 🙄 Says some crazy ass shit to rile folks up and then has the audacity to storm out like she’s the one that been affronted. Over her real bad.
